The Children's Museum at La Habra — Attraction in La Habra

We love this museum. Lots of memories as a kid coming here and now I get to bring my 2 year old to make new ones. There have been a lot of updates and new exhibits over the years and refreshes of all the classic exhibits like the dress up stage.

We most recently went during the dinosaur exhibit which has tons of dinosaur statues throughout and a Jurassic park style jeep with lots of buttons. It’s very freeing here to be able to let a 2 year old go wild touching most everything in the museum. There is also a farm section with fruit trees, big animal statues, and a house for pretend play. They had a giant light bright board with pegs to make pictures. There was a section to dig for fossils and another that discussed water consumption where all the buttons lit up household appliances in different colors. The big city bus from my childhood was still there that you can climb on.

Everything was very clean and there were tons of volunteers resetting each of the little lands as kids moved on to keep things tidy. A few exhibits had been “over-loved” but there was definitely an effort to get them working as well as they could despite the broken pieces. We went at opening on a Saturday and I was expecting big crowds but it did not feel crowded at all - tons of space for the kids to spread out.

The museum also has several antique train cars that you can walk through during tour hours but they’re also visible from outside of the building as well as dinosaur statues and a cute playground. My kiddo had such a good time we bought a membership to come back the rest...

My 3 year old was invited to his first birthday party by one of his preschool friends. Luckily, it was at LA Habra Children's Museum.

I must say, my kids are hooked to children's museums ever since we went to the Cube in Santa Ana. The whole concept of interactive play to expose children to arts and sciences is genius.

My sons had a great time, but especially my little one. My 9 year old had fun, but it would have been better if he had someone closer to his age to play with... My 3 year old, on the other hand, had the most fun exploring each of the discovery rooms, from trains to African animals to cooking, to the carousel to his all time favorite, the farm.

Seeing his little eyes grow wider and his smile just as much when he entered the farm exhibit was priceless. He was beside himself (he loves any kind of animal, but especially farm animals). My older son enjoyed this area as well as they "picked and planted" vegetables, loaded up an organic food cart, "fed" the animals, and cooked and cleaned.

We were called to one of their two party rooms for lunch then cake, but every time we went back out to explore, we went straight to the farm.

Granted, it's really like small play areas and the train area seems like an afterthought. But for the most part, it's a close-in alternative to the cube that my sons will love returning to. Only next time, we'll bring my 6 year old.

My family decided to visit The Children's Museum in La Habra as we ran out of options in OC, and it was truly fantastic! The museum, which is owned and operated by the city, offers a variety of interactive and educational exhibits that are both fun and informative. One of my favorite parts was the bug exhibit, where visitors could view a variety of bugs and learn about their names. In addition, the museum showcases the living cultures of animals and native communities, with real stuffed animals on display, including bears, wolves, and coyotes. The outdoor area also has dinosaur exhibits.

Although parking is limited, it's not a difficult to find one. The museum is a hidden gem, as not many families visit even on weekends. The price is super reasonable. They also offer a discount to residents of La Habra, and families with EBT. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to The Children's Museum at La Habra for a fantastic and educational...
