This was another spontaneous discovery while driving in the city of LaHabra, CA. It was Friday evening around dinner time. My wife and I were actually headed to another restaurant when we were passing by this great restaurant. It was already dark and the green neon illuminated the night in this area so bright you can't drive by without noticing this place. I also noticed through the windows there were quite a bit of happy people inside. So we decided to try this place. What I first noticed was nice mural artwork on the exterior walls. The hand painted art continues as you enter this place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music was not too loud and just loud enough to hear without having to raise your voice to conversate. The lighting was just right, too. We were quickly greeted by the host with a smile upon entering and like any great restaurant, we were asked to wait until seated. The wait wasn't too long about 15 minutes. They have benches outside to sit on. We met a young family while waiting and asked if they been here before? They said they come all the time and said the seafood is great and everything they have had has always been good šŸ‘šŸ¼. We heard our name called and were seated.

The chips and salsa came out quickly. We always pay attention to the chips and salsa whenever we try a new place. If the chips are fresh and hot šŸ”„ and the salsa is good, then most likely the food will be too. The chips and salsa were good. We finished the entire basket. Salsa had a great flavor with a little kick of heat on the backend and not hot when you first taste it. Nice. We ordered guacamole for our appetizer to go along with those great tasting chips. The guacamole was creamy, it was good too. I personally enjoy a more chunky guacamole but it had a great flavor nonetheless. We were waited on by Kevin. He was friendly and helpful and explained the menu to us. This is a family owned restaurant and Kevin shared with us how he used to get to the restaurant everyday after school and sit next to where we were seated to do his homework. Then help out. He grew up in this restaurant. They have 4 locations Hawaiian Gardens, La Habra, Norwalk and Paramount.

My wife ordered a Shrimp Cocktail and I ordered the TampiqueƱa plate. The shrimp cocktail in a Mexican restaurant is seved chilled, in a dish with freshly chopped vegetables and in a clam juice broth. It was full of flavorful shrimp and chunks of fresh avocado šŸ„‘ with just the right amount of fresh cilantro, onions, cucumber and diced tomato.

The TampiqueƱa plate had great aromas with the steam rising from the plate as it was served. The bold colorful plate, the fresh green onion stood out on top of the nicely grilled steak. The steak was juicy and full of flavor. I cut off the first piece of steak and asked my wife to enjoy the first bite. I knew by her expression, I was going to enjoy this meal! The refried beans were topped with melted chesse. The rice had great color and tasted perfect, it was light and fluffy. The orange colored rice had a few vegetables mixed in it just like my grandmother used to make. The steak was hiding a chesse enchilada underneath it. The entire dish did not go to waste! No doggybag was needed. I finished the entire plate. I ordered corn tortillas which I totally ignored until I was done. I took one tortilla out of the yellow paper it was rolled up in and it was still warm! šŸ”„ I used it to mop up all of the leftover sauce on my plate. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal.

While we were waiting for our food to arrive, we kept seeing all kinds of wonderful dishes being served. We can’t wat to come back and try other dishes. Great food, great friendly staff, nice warm atmosphere make for a perfect meal. Kevin did say it is really busy on the weekends. So plan on waiting when you come. But it will be worth the wait.

I just ordered from Uber eats. Initially I rated the order 5 stars because I assumed my order would be correct considering it was just a burrito.... I should have waiting to open my food. I ordered a burrito. On their menu it says beans, rice, cilantro, onions and salsa included. I received my burrito with only half the ingredients. It only came with beans and rice and my choice of meat. I had put to add guac, cheese, and sour cream. Which they did add. Which is why it’s not a complete 1 star. The website clearly has an option for choosing NOT to have any of the ingredients. (Hence they ARE included if there was no option to actually add them, there was only options to remove) I obviously didn’t pick no onion* no salsa* or no cilantro*. I left it as is because if the menu says it’s included it should be included. I know some people might think it’s silly but i was SO hungry and having the urge to eat a burrito on my cheat day and only to have it delivered plain! I’m so upset. Normally I wouldn’t rant because I’d just drive there and ask for the condiments on the side, I wouldn’t make them re do my burrito. That’s silly, I can add it myself if I can. BUT I obviously couldn’t driver there so it’s so inconvenient when your order is wrong and delivered by Uber eats!!! UGH idk why I’m so mad. But hey, moral of the story. If you’re ganna order from Uber eats, just like I am now, I recommend adding on the notes ā€œplease Include everythingā€. Food was good, not ganna lie. Definitely ordering again, but...

Unbelievable awesome place! Our party of 4 arrived at 10:25 PM and they close at 11. We ordered 4 Strawberry Margaritas a dozen raw oysters and Carne Asada Nachos. Excellent fat, thick PACIFIC oysters! Haven't had Pacific oysters in years, just thin gulf coast ones at Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach and Colina Oysterneria in La Habra. Very good cocktail sauce, and with a healthy squeeze of lemon.. slurrrrppp...ahhhhhh...EXCELLENT!!! The Carne Asada Nachos...EXCELLENT+!!! And we refilled out chips and salsa 3 times (for free) to help finish the Nachos. We left at 11:20! 20-minutes past closing. No complaints from the staff, and yet, EXCELLENT SERVICE! If I could, I'd give this place a 5ā˜†+...just beyond Excellent in food and service. The Strawberry Margaritas are from a frozen syrup concoction. Don't order them, they're only okay. The mango peach is from a pure syrup, okay only, order the lemon lime, their most...

This is the first time we had been to this establishment. It was recommended by a cousin who lives in La Habra. The structure is medium in size with booths and tables ,chairs to sit down and enjoy your meal. There’s also a little bar with a few stools. The place is decorated nicely. We ordered a Plate of enchilada and chili relleno with beans and rice. Also a plate of sizzling hot fajitas, which consist of shrimp, steak and chicken. This also came with beans and rice. We drink Horchata and a Mexican Coke and for dessert, we had a banana split which was really good, all the food was good .The service was friendly courteous and attentive. The prices are fairly reasonable. They have a happy hour and specials. There’s plenty of parking .The handicap stalls are close to the front entrance.

I really enjoy the food at this location. I cannot say I enjoy the service. It always feels like we are inconveniencing them by being there which is super disappointing. Hate to even ask for a refill without getting attitude. I will say this last visit our server was surprisingly super nice and accommodating. I've never seen him there before I think he's new. Thankful for his service and we'll ask for him again next time we go. Wish I could give you his name he did not have a name tag on and when I asked his name I couldn't understand him. I had the chilaquiles with the enchilada sauce so that they were not spicy. They're regular red sauce is super hot and not for the faint of heart. My dish was absolutely delicious I ate every bite!
