This place is perfectly convenient and local in San Diego. There is so much to do here. You can bike, walk, run, or bird watch the trail. Some people go back and forth consecutively. The richness and plush colors of the lake along with the plant life magical. Peak hours vary. I was lucky that it was pretty calm about Saturday afternoon. In addition people bring their tents, relax, fish and there are so many things to do here.

While I was initially underwhelmed by the muted colors and terrain, I am so grateful I decided to walk the bike trail.

I felt like I found a hidden gem when I noticed I was surrounded by so many locals. Runners. Bikers. Folks walking their dogs. Fishers. Kiddos. It was such a pleasant atmosphere.

I LOVE LAKE MURRAY! There is so much to do...you can run, walk, bike or roller blade around the lake, there are tons of shady areas for a picnic or to read a book, you can feed the ducks, geese, swans & other birds, you can fish, you can take a paddle boat or one of the other boats out on the water for a reasonable price. It's a wonderful weekend...
