We have been on several food tours in the past but none can compare with Cajun Food Tours. We had hubby's Mom with us today for her very first food tour and she could not say enough good things about the tour! Marie started this tour with a dream and her dream has come true! I am glad we had her as our tour guide today. She was entertaining in her descriptions about the restaurants and about the local history of Lafayette and the surrounding parishes. She made it fun to listen to her stories. As a former Louisiana History teacher, there were many informative descriptions of different locations of the places we visited and the countryside we traveled through.

She had hand picked all of the restaurants on our tour today and had personally visited them. The tastings were of all of the best food that I have ever had. From the beginning when we started with the Kolache stuffed with boudin, with a side of a mouth watering donut, to the Monterey Jack Cheese Charbroiled Oyster to the grand finale of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. These are just a few of the sampling we had on our tour. The only way I am used to eating oysters is Fried Oysters but the Charbroiled Oyster has opened up my eyes to a whole new way to prepare them.

Thanks Marie for a wonderful way to learn about Louisiana culture and the folks that live here. We learned a new way to say “Let’s go eat!” today!! Allons...

We had a great time this afternoon eating our has through Lafayette LA with Marie from Cajun Food Tours. This is the first food tour that I have been on where you loaded onto a bus, but Marie knows all the local spots and knows that she has to get people to the very best places in town to share her passion and commitment to the very best Cajun food in the community.

I feel that I have experienced a side of the community that I would not have experienced otherwise, meeting the people who are committed to the fine crafted food. We stopped at five different locations at each location we were able to experience at least one food that is unique to the area. Marie has a number of different tour routes so you could take this tour more than once and experience totally different food options.

In addition to introducing us to great food, Marie is very knowledgeable about the history of Louisiana and the Cajun people. She is great at using the time driving from one location to another telling you about the history of the food and the people. I would recommend joining one of her tours when you are...

Pretty much every travel site I read listed Cajun Food Tours as the best thing to do in Lafayette, and it didn't disappoint. Marie, the owner, has everyone introduce themselves when you get on the bus. Everyone on the bus except for my family lived locally and almost everyone had been on the tour previously. I thought it was odd so many locals were on a food tour ... then I realized Marie knows where all the best food in the area is that even the local residents don't know about.

Marie also makes the tour fun. She has a passion for her hometown, its culture and history that comes through. You'll discover the real Acadiana on this tour; the personal stories and perspectives that you won't find in museums. She also gives you a great introduction to delicious Cajun food ("delicious" and "Cajun" might be redundant!).

I have a newfound love for boudin (Cajun sausage) and have already found an online source for my new addiction. Thank you, Marie - this tour was the highlight...

What a great experience, especially if you're not familiar with southern Louisiana. Not only do you get to sample the areas delectable cuisine, but you also learn some history of Lafayette! Our guide, Jay, was very hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I have a gluten intolerance, so they made some changes for me so that I could enjoy the trip just as much as everyone else. The bus is cozy and spacious. We were supplied with bottles of water and a koozie for our drinks. They also provide a cooler should you want to purchase anything from the stops. We got to sample the tastiest boudain at Johnsons Boucaniere, famous po'boy from Olde Tyme Grocery, the best gumbo at Bon Temps Grill, the juiciest gator bites and Crawfish nachos from The Cajun Table, followed by the sweetest king cake, pistachio cake for me, at Poupart Bakery. Absolutely a grand adventure! We'll definitely be returning to all of the businesses to taste more from the menu's.

If you want to have one heck of a good time this is a MUST for visitors and locals alike. With a bus that fits up to 14 people, the Cajun Food Tour is great for large groups too, which is what we did. The tour is about 3 hours but the time flies by as the tour guide goes into history about the area, the food and the origins! The food on the tour differs depending on the season but no matter when you go it NEVER disappoints! Our group got the pleasure of tasting sausage gumbo, pulled pork grilled cheese, a fried shrimp poboy, boudin and king cake! We ended the tour with happy full bellies a knowledge of the culture enriched food we ate and a great memory filled with fun and good food!
