Cajun Village — Attraction in Lafayette

The BEST possible housing place for college students who have families. The apartments are big and spacious and ideal for a family of three to four members.

Bedrooms: There are two bedrooms - one is really big (plenty of spaces remain after fitting a king size bed) and the other one is little smaller but decent in size. Both bedrooms have decent size wall-to-wall closets.

Bathrooms: 1 bathroom - common to the both bedrooms. It would be more convenient if there are two bathrooms. However, if the family size is small one bathroom does not create much of a problem. Bathroom is clean and nice with running hot water.

Living & Dining (with kitchen): kitchen is large and equipped with refrigerator and stove/oven. All the appliances are in very good and clean condition. Living room is large and spacious. There is a separate place for the washer/dryer hook-ups.

The most attractive feature of these apartments is that all the amenities (water, sewerage, pest, electricity, and cable tv) are included in the rent and as of november 2013 the rent is only $510/- per month.

The apartment manager Ms. Gigi is very polite and friendly. The maintenance of the apartments is done by the university and they are very efficient and quick. These apartments are located inside the university campus - so you can just walk to your department, library, registrar's office, food, health service, police station, post office etc. within few minutes. The only problem with the apartments is that big grocery stores like Walmart is not in a walking distance (it is a few minutes drive though). A smaller but decent size grocery (Albertson's) is about 1 mile from here.

The apartment security and safety is excellent as these are in-campus housings. The police station is about five minutes walking distance and you can see the police patrols all the times. I have never heard of any accidents nearby any time.

This is undoubtedly the best place to live in Lafayette, LA. If you are a college student coming to UL with your family you can definitely consider to live in here. I have been here for few years and never had a single thing to complain about the...

It's really a place you can call home. They have decent parking and outdoor spaces where kids can play. Housing rooms and bathroom are spaciius and have in unit W/D hookup. I would rate the safety 4.5, generally very safe. Maintenances are slow andit is possible that some maintenance requests may never have been addressed especially if it is something non urgent cosmetic repair request.
