Food is always good but, I am changing my previous 5 star review because I had a frustrating experience today. My 3 girl friends and I were meeting for breakfast. 2 of us showed up and sat at a table waiting for our other friends. We were approached by a worker and told that we had to get up and buy our food first before we could sit at a table. We proceeded to get up and wait in line to order. Once at the register, we were told that our whole party had to be ordering at the same time to order. So we again, moved ourselves to the back of the line and waited for our friends. After ordering and finding a table, a worker said she would wipe the dirty table for us in a second and rolled her eyes while walking away. While most of us had finished our meal, we were approached by 2 separate staff members taking our dishes and telling us goodbye! Seemingly forcing us to leave because they wanted our table for someone else?!? We felt frustrated and unwanted. I will not be back because I drive 1 hour into Lafayette to spend time with my friends and want to be able to relax and eat a meal with them without feeling rushed. I'm so sad that this happened and hope they can change their attitudes for the next patrons who visit.
Added: I appreciate the comment from the owner but am concerned that the attitudes of the employees wasn't addressed. It wasn't the policy of the restaurant that was the most upsetting. It was the way we were treated while being informed...
Read moreI had breakfast this morning at Parish Biscuit Company in Lafayette, and I was impressed from the moment we walked in. The décor was bright, open, and welcoming, creating such a comfortable atmosphere to start the day. Steve, the manager, (possibly the owner) was wonderful — he went out of his way to greet and speak with each guest, which added such a personal and genuine touch to the experience.
The ordering process is simple — you order first, find a seat, and then the food is brought right to you. And wow, the food did not disappoint! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and intentional. Of course, the biscuits deserve special mention — light, buttery, and warm, they were absolutely sensational (just as the name promises). They felt like comfort on a plate, the kind of biscuit that instantly makes you feel at home.
The pancakes were another standout — golden, fluffy, and with perfectly crisp edges that gave them the most satisfying bite. Every detail felt thoughtful, from the flavors to the presentation.
Parish Biscuit Company is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. We’ll...
Read moreMy Lafayette friends had been raving about this place, so I gave it a try. I get that we all have different taste buds, but they were pretty adamant about it. We had pancakes, cheddar corn grits, biscuit and gravy and they gave us a free order of beignets. First my food was cold (more warm, but definitely not hot). The pancakes were ok. I'm not a huge fan of fluffy pancakes. I tend to like mine a lil more crispy, but the flavor was just ok. The cheddar corn grits just had too much going on. Cheese, onions, green and red peppers and corn. It was ok, but it was a lot of flavors colliding. I added some salt and that seemed to balance it out some. The biscuit & gravy came with the wrong gravy, but it was a good biscuit. The beignets were great. I'm not a fan of the dense beignets you get in New Orleans. These were kinda crispy and fried harder. Loved them! I would give this place another try, but I know what adjustments to make next time. The servers were great. The music was a lil loud, but the musical selection...
