I love this park! It's always nice to go to a park with people. No matter the time, this park always has people and I think that's a good thing. They have two tracks. One is over a mile long. They have a pond with lots of ducks and I do see people fishing every now and then. They also have plenty of college kids that setup their hammocks and relax almost every day. There is a large pool that is open in the summer. It has a diving platform that looks real cool. Inside the rec center is a large basketball court and I wouldn't be surprised if there is also a weight room in there, like at Thomas Park. Outside there is also basketball courts, raquetball courts, a climbing wall, playgrounds and a splash pad for the kids. This a cool park with plenty of space, located right in the middle of the city. They also have events here year round. The best event is probably the Festival at the end of the summer. Awesome park to have...
Read moreThis is a fun park ! It's got a few features I don't see in parks in my hometown - like a pond. And with the pond comes ducks - friendly ducks. They will follow you and ask for food ducks 😆 Pretty water fountain to catch your attention. As you walk around the pond, each different view is just as awesome as the one before !
HUUUUGE fields to play Frisbee or whatever, playgrounds, rock wall ( I guess....), and swings of various sorts. They look like maybe a Baby/Mommy(Daddy) swing...?? You have the baby swing part with a regular flat swing that Momma could sit on, facing Baby. There's a coupla more swings I'm not sure of the intent, sorry.
There is a little splash area - I believe you turn the water on yourself. So if you go looking for it, the water might not be on. Don't worry - turn it on yourself.
The trail is great for walking or running.... whatever you like.
Overall, it's a great park and I go when I...
Read moreThis place is completely different than from when I was a kid. Its great to see our tax dollars actually spent on something that can benefit people of all ages. Separate, really nice play grounds for the little ones, splash pads, indoor and outdoor basketball, tennis, workout areas, walking/running tracks, disc golf, fishing pond and the list goes on. Lafayette knocked this one out of the park (no pun intended). There are tons of trees with well kept grass to throw down a blanket and have a picnic. The pond is stocked twice a year with channel catfish and once a year (usually February) with Rainbow Trout. If its been a while since you have been there, give it a try, you will not be...
