Heymann Performing Arts Center — Attraction in Lafayette

Pro: Good sound system but waaay too loud. Cons: dumbest mess I've ever seen trying to get in this place. Parked in the rear and walked up to the side entrance. Only dancers could enter there. All others were directed to the rear of building. Even signs on doors all pointed to "Entrance" with arrows pointing left (rear of building.) We walked around this huge bldg about 300° and the only entrance was at the front, about 75 feet from the side entrance but to the right of it, not left. Frustrated people all around the bldg trying to find an entrance. Even dancers in costume with moms were wondering around dumpsters and service doors trying to find a way in. Now the inside. . . 60-70 seats across with no center isles. Non stop people needing to pass to get in and out. Talk about a fire Hazzard! No isles down front to go around. You had to walk through a row of seats to get in,...

Honestly- check around for other venues before buying tickets here. If a band or performer you love is anywhere else reasonably- go there. They wouldn't let you stand during the show! And we're talking about the AVETT BROTHERS. COME ON NOW! I love them and have seen them numerous times elese where. This was by far my least favorite show due to the venue and would not drive here again. I would gladly follow a band I liked- anywhere else in the state. I was very disappointed about not being able to stand during the show! This is the Avett Brothers for pete sake! It very much killed the vibe of the entire concert and I doubt any other band or performer would play here knowing fans couldn't enjoy the show fully. Only problem was the people at the doors that was scanning us in and out were confused. One person told me I could not exit a certain door. She said I had to go out the other dood. When I walked 15 from to the other door that lady said I could not go out that door and I had to go out the other dood which is the one 1st lady said I couldn't go out. I told them that they need to get together and figure out who was gonna scan me out because I was going out, so one of them scanned me out.
