I was babtized in this House in January of 2025. The Priest said " Welcome into the faith brother pray for me too. You now have the Authority and Power. You have been accepted. " I was not welcomed into a religion by this Holy Man. I was welcomed into a faith that got started along time ago. Big differences in this.. I am a man who believes in a Spiritual way of life not a religious way of life I am not actually affiliated with any Domination, Secret,or Order . I actually renounced all religion back in March. I am of the School of : God started a church many years ago . God , the Lord and the ones who are able to find Him, or the ones He finds. Phillipians Chapter 2 verse 2 Fulfill your my joy be like minded having the same Love, being of one mind , of one Accord I didn't join any of these of today, these House that represent God around the whole world, I went looking for God and the Lord and included myself in the Faith God started. Then learned this: God, The Lord and Me , make up the church , we are the church , but so is all that are too. We the Breatheren make up one third of the church , The Lord makes up one third, and God makes up the last one third. God Bless that Priest for Babtizeing me like he did , he Disciped me that day. Blessing me with all I needed to be able to have the life I did want. II am still waiting on The Lord , and God too . I be patient, and I see long ways. Thank you God Bless you...

As the Youth Director, I feel my review is somewhat biased. However, from the inside, the Cathedral is one of the few growing parishes in the Diocese. A large number of families have been added each year, and it's noticed at the 9:00 am Mass where children are certainly welcome. Fr. Chester has been a wonderful, welcoming, and compassionate pastor. There are plenty of community activities for the whole family and for specific groups (mother's ministry, Dinner by Design for married couples, women's and men's groups, youth group, and many more). The 11:00 am Mass is my personal favorite, with a truly outstanding choir and organist, incense, and an abundance of altar servers, the liturgy is truly elevated heavenward. The grounds are beautiful. The cemetery contains several notable people including Jean Mouton, General Mouton, Kaliste Saloom, Ambassador Caffery and more. The church architecture is a sight to behold both from the inside and out. The Live Oak adjacent to the church is 500+ years old (the second oldest recorded in the country). Lastly, the museum has several priceless artifacts deserving a look, including Bishop Jeanmard's vestments and monstrance. At the very least,...

I'm more spiritual than I am religious. In saying that; being I was raised in a christian home environment I'm a firm believer that EVERY individual is entitled to believe in a God of their own understanding & should ALWAYS be respected for their own beliefs/faiths. I attended this Catholic Church (Mass) because I was asked to do so by a friend that's always been & has lived by the Roman Catholic beliefs. I totally enjoyed the service & actually was educated on a few things that I believed in all my life to be truth written in stone, but was explained in detail with proof to not be truth. Ppl, regardless of the lifestyle you're now living, if we are to believe in anything, PLEASE believe in God (or, the God, you choose to serve) because your eternal salvation of the afterlife depends on your very true faith in such God. Reach out to others. Let them know for sure that there is HOPE in this despondent world we live in. It's the few good Christians or spiritual ppl we have left in this world that will make the difference in the end...trust me, we all SHALL have an...

So beautiful. This gorgeous Cathedral totally captures the love, mercy and appreciation for all life as bestowed on humankind by God Our Father. Daily mass with faithful followers of “The Way” was a highlight of our vacation. The family that prays together stays together. The stained glass windows with statements of faith written in French reflect the faith, hope and love of past generations that trusted. Let us take a lesson from the history books! Come to see and experience this beautiful home of God.

I was the visitor of the town, and went for the service. Very friendly Priests and Parishioners. Attended 11 am Sunday mass. Choir was excellent. The church is beautiful. Serene. The Cemetery is creatively managed and the 500 years old Oak tree has it's own special place . By luck, it was the Parish family picnic on 3rd November 2019. I was warmly welcomed by the Priests and Police Marshal. Had a good time and tasty food all for free.

This is a beautiful, and historic church in downtown Lafayette. We are fortunate that this church is open to the public, so you can see how beautiful it is. There is a beautiful, huge oak tree outside, that you can’t get close to. Come inside, take a seat, and take in the beauty of this church. This place is full of history, and the detail work in this church is amazing. I highly recommend that you come in and visit this church.
