Mosaic Bar & Grille — Restaurant in Laguna Beach

First: I don’t like to leave negative reviews!!! But:

We ordered: guacamole 🥑 and Chips; we did not order but got a small cup of salsa We thought it’s part of the meal. . At the end the waiter Al. G. charged $6!!!

We ordered: Lobster Quesadilla: obviously it had more, lot more cheese than lobster! $36! It supposed to come with OUR CHOICE of: fries, sweet potato fries or fruits. The waiter did Not ask what we want. He brought out Fries!!! I am on the pretty healthy side so it didn’t really work for me.

Third order was: A Fish sandwich. Also came with Fries!!!

I got cup of water. Asked for a Straw. Got it in seconds but: the waiter brought it out in his hand. Meaning: he held it in the middle and I supposed to put it into my water!!!! I don’t know what he touched before!!!! Germs, bacteria….

We said nothing.

On top of these: we have not finished our lunch yet and he brought out the Check! I asked my son whether he asked for it: he said NO!!!

The waiter also didn’t ask if we want any coffee or dessert!

Anyway, I was so excited about trying this restaurant out. Now I am very disappointed! I was pissed for 2 reasons: #1: the Service, #2: my son tipped him accordingly!!!!!!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Mosaic Bar and Grille with my amazing husband. The atmosphere was enchanting, with stunning views of the ocean that made our meal even more special.

We decided to indulge and ordered the lobster sandwich and the lobster salad. Both dishes were outstanding! The lobster sandwich was perfectly prepared, with succulent chunks of lobster nestled between fresh, toasted bread. It was paired with crispy sweet potato fries that complemented the sandwich beautifully.

The lobster salad was equally impressive—light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor. The combination of fresh ingredients made it a delightful choice for a sunny day.

The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect meal.

View is great. Service was pathetic. I came to montage to book a weekend for later in the month, and check out the view to make sure it was worthy of a birthday present trip. After telling Mosaic we were just visiting and not a current guest this particular weekend, we waited for 20min with no server even bringing water. I was looking over my shoulder at the empty restaurant with more hostess and waiting staff than patrons, and still no acknowledgment. Finally I went to the bar for service. Finally when the staff saw my Gucci wallet drop a stack of hundreds on ordering a couple drinks, someone came to the table to apologize. Insulting and pathetic experience for such a highly rated and $1000 a night hotel.
