Central Electronics — Attraction in Lake Forest

Dropped of a TV for diagnostic and repair. My 5 year old 55" Samsung TV had horizontal lines on it. A lady greeted me and told me to drop off the TV at their back entrance because it is easier and nobody can help me in the front entrance. Lady just took my name, address and number and never gave me a receipt. My mistake was not asking her for a receipt. I guess I trusted them so much with my TV. A week later I called for an update and they insisted that I dropped of the TV for recycling! The owner was even so arrogant in insisting it was all my mistake and that I was lucky that I was not charged with a diagnostic fee. Anyways, he told me that the TV needed the panel to be replaced and suggested that it is going to be more expensive to repair it than buy a new one. So, I was left with a dilemma and just decided to give up the TV for recycling rather than go thru a rough conversation of what was said and done that day. I dont think they even did diagnostic test on the TV or tried replacing the T-Con board to see if it helped. This company is shady! And better be...

There is not an ability to give ZERO stars for this company and specifically the Owner. The Serviceman (who I found out later was the Owner) said he would come by and fix my VCR as he was very close to my home and never mentioned any charge since I had previously already had my TV repaired there (within their 90 days warranty policy). After wiggling a wire, He charged me $75? He never mentioned charging me since he said he was in the area. I had mentioned that to him and he said that was OK? He said that $75 to come out was a discount and that his normal charge was $95? I told him his previous technician came out a couple of weeks before, wiggled a wire and didn't charge me a penny. I will NEVER use this shop ever again. I would never recommend them nor use them. DO NOT USE THEM AS THE OWNER IS A CROOK and exhibited very shady business practices. I do not recommend this company. They gave me a quote of $150 to set up my audio for a tv. The repairman told me upon looking at my set up for approximately 20 minutes that he couldn't do anything and that I owed $150 for that assesment. He was polite and friendly but I almost felt like crying over my wasted money. Then he said that when he was in the neighborhood he would come and fix it when I bought the things he requested. They did call me a few times at the last minute but I was not available. After that they no longer called. I think they got the money and they were no longer going to bother. I think they should have been willing to come just to fix my tv but they would not make a separate trip. After they got their money basically that was it.
