Empanada Man Pizzeria — Restaurant in Lake Forest

At first glance this was delicious, a little chewy but I thought it was just the melted cheese. My order was a three cheese blend with tomatoes and basil. The person taking my order was super kind and suggested multiple types since I was overwhelmed with their menu. The wait time was 10min and I thought that was pretty quick for empanadas.

We’ll after my first one I had to leave since my car was ready. The sauce was amazing!

Once I had more time I attempted to eat a second one only to find out the dough was RAW. I was disgusted and already not feeling well. I meant to go back and show them but at this point I was not going to go back out of my way to get a second meal that I probably wouldn’t have liked.

To sum up 13$ for three undercooked empanadas. Not my cup of tea maybe it was just a rush order ? Or maybe the dough is supposed to be that raw. Definitely would not go back...

I didn’t have high expectations going into Empanada Man Pizzeria, but after having their empanadas, Empanada Man is now one of my go tos for Argentinian empanadas. First off, being a pizzeria, I went in thinking their empanadas was going to just be a small calzone (thick dough), but it wasn’t. The dough was perfectly thin and flaky. The fillings were also well seasoned and flavorful.

I ordered the beef, chicken, and Salteñas flavors. The order came with a side of spicy mayo and chimichurri. The beef was tender and great paired with the chimichurri sauce. The chicken was tender and had a slight kick. It paired well with the spicy mayo sauce. But the star was the Salteñas. The flavor was complex. Loved the Chipotle shrimp empanadas! They're small just like empanadas but they are so full of flavor and burst even more when you add the creamy Chipotle sauce and chimichurri sauce! We also ordered a small Pepperoni pizza for our girls and they ate all of it including the crust because it was crunchy. The husband and I opted for the mucho macho meat and surprisingly it was really good. We didn't think it was going to be that spicy but it was really good regardless of the heat from the peppers! Absolutely loved the fact that they sell bottled beer. The menu has so much to offer from different empanadas, different kinds of pizzas, dessert, pasta, subs....they have alot to choose from! The young boys working here were amazing and well mannered. The service was amazing!...
