What a find! I’m making Korean dumplings for a gathering and needed a few specific ingredients that I am quite unfamiliar with. I googled “best kimchi near me”, and even though it was a little bit of a drive, this place is totally worth it! Family run for decades, the gal (who is the daughter, and I feel awful, but I can’t remember her name) was running the place that day and was incredibly friendly and helpful. The kimchi is amazing as are the side dishes and the produce is very good quality. The store is clean and welcoming, and absolutely DO NOT miss the homemade beef jerky, which doesn’t have any additives or preservatives. It is addicting! I like the spicy or extra spicy version. It’s up by the cash register if you can’t find it 😋 Well in a strip mall that’s just slightly off the beaten path, there was ample parking and I will be back soon!...
Read moreI came for the kimchee! And they did not disappoint! Every delicious, fermented, funky goodness is made in house and the only issue I have is that there is not something like this in Everett! How I'm only learning of this place now....ugh. I usually get my fix over at Paldo when I'm in town to visit fam, but man... this place has everything I want in fermented goodness! Bought the biggest jar of kimchee (asked the nice lady to find me the jar that was the "oldest" of the batch), brought it home and as soon as I tried to open it, I thought that bad boy was going to shoot through the ceiling! Also got me some gimbap (that was completely gone before I even hit Seattle) and some of their eomuk bokkeum/어묵 볶음. Soooo good! Looking forward to putting that on top of some sticky rice..
...will totally be...
Read moreThis is my go to store to stock up on my fave korean banchan (side dishes) like several different types of kimchi, the tastiest odeng (fish cakes), spicy beansprouts, boiled squid, seasoned perilla leaves, to name a few.... and they also have delicious kimbap, kimchi or reg pancakes, kimchi and reg mandu, some pre-made korean soups and biji- jjigae (ground soybean stew) which I usually can never find this anywhere else unless you make your own! Don't want to marinate your own bulgogi and not wanting to spend the crazy amount it costs now at the korean restaurants... they have pre-marinated bulgogi and kalbi ready for you to just cook it up. Too easy! This mom and pops store beats out the other huge Asian markets in the area when it comes to the side dishes and yummy eats! 맛있게 드세오!...
