Springbrook Park — Attraction in Lakewood

During my recent visit to Springbrook Park in Lakewood, I had a mixed experience that left me with some reservations about recommending it to others. While the park boasts natural beauty and a range of amenities, there were some aspects of the atmosphere that diminished the overall enjoyment of my visit.

Let's start with the positive aspects. Springbrook Park offers a picturesque setting with lush greenery, well-maintained pathways, and a serene lake. This undesirable element made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe at times, particularly when there were fewer people around. It's unfortunate that the actions of a few individuals can significantly affect the overall ambiance of a public space that should be enjoyed by all.

Furthermore, the park lacked proper monitoring and security presence. It seemed that there was a lack of oversight, which may have contributed to the unchecked behavior and created an environment where certain individuals felt emboldened to engage in inappropriate activities.

While I understand that public parks are open to all, it is essential for the local authorities and park management to take steps to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for visitors. Increased security measures, regular park patrols, and the enforcement of rules and regulations would go a long way in improving the overall atmosphere of Springbrook Park.

This place the park made Springbrook for me. No more Chocolate City. Also every Saturday at Noon (St.Leos Cathlic Comm.Serviced) Food Connection trucks are there to hand out food and that's the last 3rd stop. 1st is on Lincoln- Ave & San-francisco @ 9:20am ish. 2nd being on Boston Ave off Lincoln Ave. Towards the freeway. @10:20am. I've been living here for 4+ years and I enjoy it very much. Have met a hand full of people I call Friends. Met more that I would never but I just smile in there face. But most so shady.Im embarrass were even in the same human race. I'm not Judging it's just a feeling. Come have a play date & a picnic in Springbrook Park on the Left side...

It's a ok park. Some cool toys for the kids to play on. But...broken glass all over the parking lot. Junk and someone's shoes laying on the grass. Not cleaned up regularly of say. When I got here I let my 5 yr old play on the toys. There was no one here. Then all of a sudden. Ppl and kids of all ages defended on the park. From the surrounding apartments. And basically took over the park. I didn't feel comfortable letting my 5 yr old to keep playing on the toys. Even outside you just be careful with delta. Kids get way to close together without even thinking about it. Might come back here in middle of winter. Colder but less ppl...
