Mexican Food | El Antojo Lakewood — Restaurant in Lakewood

I have been coming here for the past 5 years and love the food. I don’t need to pay $15 to enjoy great Mexican food. They have a special for a burrito and drink for 4.99. Running late for work so I thought I would call in my order. Big mistake. She wanted me to pay over the phone which I wasn’t really comfortable with but I was willing to try it. She told me never mind you can pay when you get here. Awesome!! I walk through the door and it is busy as usual which is a good thing. I talk to Diana and she remembered me calling in. Payed for the 4.99 burrito and put in 2 extra bucks in the tip jar cause she let me pay when I got there. My order wasn’t ready. She went back to the cook and told him to rush out a order. I got a small greasy burrito with nothing but beans and beef in it. I love the food here. Obviously they are beating out all the big names like el toro and puerto viarta. But please don’t forget about the returning veteran customers. I’ll pay 10 dollars for the burrito. Just please dont skimp on the quality of food and service. Update: Came in today with some friends and it was packed as usual. “Good sign” One of my friends quoted the burrito was better then the food trucks you see in the area. I had another wonderful meal. Solid 4.7/5 I tried their taco special, 3/7.99 to go so I could eat it at work. As I was standing there waiting, I could see a dozen other items that I wanted to try off of their menu. I asked the lady at the counter if they make their own salsa, and she said yes, so I also ordered some chips and sauce as well. I love fresh homemade salsa, and their's did not disappoint! Very flavorful salsa. She told me that the taco special could come with one of three different types of meat. I didn't know which one I should try so I asked her if I could try one of each, which they kindly let me do. The chicken and the regular pork were both pretty good, but the "al pastor" was delicious! I would get all three tacos pastor next time. Also I was surprised with how many vegetables and salsas threw in on the side, something that nowhere else in the area does that I know of. Now I want to try all the other great looking items on their menu!

This is actually my first time in this location I live not even a five minute walk from here so I thought I’d try it When I first walked in, the restaurant was semi busy There was a party in front of me with kids running around and a husband and wife ordering The poor cashier, they kept changing their order on her, so I was waiting for quite a while in line Then a lady named Karen, Went out in the lobby, cleaned the table And jumped in line when she saw the confusion with the party in front of me and I told her I would have no problem honestly waiting, but do you know she insisted on getting my order and getting it ready for me so I didn’t need to continue waiting in line. Her Customer Service needs recognition I will return back at this restaurant just for her Customer Service alone I have worked fast food It is not an easy job But she quickly picked the tempo up and took back control of the line not to mention she went through that lobby and cleaned everything.
