We were very excited to have a Subway this close to our house we just moved to this neighborhood and when we walked into order Mary behind the counter was very rude as soon as we walked up to the counter just as soon as I open my purse to grab a coupon for my 5yr old son to pick out a sandwich Mary said " you know only 1 person can use a coupon not all of you and if you try to walk out and come in separate I won't serve you and you can't combine it with any other offer just so we're clear " she was just SO RUDE mind you we never once even ordered anything or told her what we wanted she started saying these things as soon as she saw me grab the coupons so we ended up leaving without buying my son his food ( we were only going to use that 1 coupon to being with but didn't get a chance to even say that to her ) because I felt like we were being judged just for having coupons I called and tried to talk to the manager she offered us free cookies which I told her we didn't want anything for free but she basically didn't believe it when I told her what happened and how we are treated I will never go back to the subway again they will no longer get my business and I recommend that nobody goes there they are very rude I'm just shocked that a employee would treat...
Read moreWe like the steak and cheese sandwiches although I had to request the steak be heated up BEFORE putting it on the bread, as it has been every time I've ever ordered this sandwich before, and believe me, I've been ordering this sandwich for my husband for decades. When I asked why it was not heated up, I was told it has to be requested ??????? Why???? Who wants to eat cold congealed precooked meat COLD ??? If there are those out there that prefer the steak meat cold, please, please tell me why !! We also ordered a salad and the to go container was less than half full so we took a photo and the next time we get a salad from the other local franchise that is less stingy and more customer service friendly, we'll send out the comparison. The attitude of the employee that served us was certainly not pleasant or friendly. They seemed more annoyed that we would question the meat thing. This store is actually closest to my home, but I haven't been to it in over a year because of a terrible customer service issue I had then. Thought I'd give them another try, but nope, I'll go to another one further away that has a better understanding of what a paying customer wants...
Read moreTL;DR: Dear franchise owner -- do better. MUCH better.
This is the most "hit or miss" fast food place in Lakewood. Sometimes you'll go and get lucky and the service will be prompt and the food is super tasty.
But most of the time you go and service is ridiculously slow (like 8 minutes to make one sandwich), they're out of ingredients (usually bread, but sometimes veggies), and their veggies are legitimately frozen solid (not just chilled, I mean ice crystals growing on the actual veggies) (and not just one of the veggie containers, but all of them).
It's clear the turn-over is high for employees (not surprising as I'm guessing they aren't being compensated well) and the training is non-existent. I asked to have one of their new foot-long cookies and the worker said, "I haven't been trained on that, so I can't do that, I'm sorry." To be clear -- this is a managerial and franchise-owner issue, not a day-to-day service worker issue.
I really wish this place was consistent and better quality because I would go there twice a week for some fresh, easy lunch if it was. But sadly I think this is the last time I'm going here after I've given them...
