Lost Cruces Escape Room — Attraction in Las Cruces

I did the Heist and Ariana's Wedding.

Pros: Our Game Master (Finn) was amazing. Seriously, they made the whole experience so much better. Hats off to them.

I personally love the overall vibe of the place. It may be a bit less polished than some of the big national chains, but it is obvious that all of the work was done in house by people who are excited about their work. This makes all the difference for me.

There are some very clever puzzle ideas at play. Not all of these pan out in practice, but I really appreciate the designers ambitions. This may sound like a complaint, but for me it is a net positive.

Cons: the puzzles are tough, but unfortunately not always in a way that feels intentional. Rather than being clever, they often come off as obtuse or under-developed. As someone who works in the industry and has been professionally designing escape rooms for 7 years, it feels obvious to me that these rooms could have used some more playtesting, especially Ariana's Wedding.

Even with all that, I really do recommend Lost Cruces! Give 'em a try! And get ready for some...

I drove with a friend four hours from Tucson to try The Heist at Lost Cruces, then four hours back immediately afterwards. It was well worth it. We had a fantastic time.

I'm an escape room enthusiast, having solved about 260 different rooms at this point, and my friend is more of a novice, only having tried once before. We both had an amazing time. Lost Cruces nailed making the room not only a challenge but also an immersive, cinematic experience. The way the room reacted and changed as we progressed through the challenge was really delightful, and we couldn't stop talking about it on our long ride home.

The puzzles were very unique and challenging, but very fair and accessible. The room nailed the immersion factor, and even the hint system was designed in such a way to keep the players in the story. This escape room is great! After going to the one in New Orleans I wasn’t expecting Las Cruces to have anything comparable. But we were so pleased! The owner (or I think he is, the gentlemen in the video) goes above and beyond for your experience! My niece was so happy she chose this for her 13th birthday, and my 8yo niece also had a blast. My 60yo+ mom went with us, and she loved it too! It’s really an event for all ages. I have stage 4 cancer and can’t be physically active, so this was an awesome activity to do with the family. I also forgot my glasses and the owner was willing to meet me across town the next day to accommodate me. You don’t see business like that anymore.
