This a great shop for old school video games, and other game paraphernalia; board games, action figures, stuffed animals and much more. The selection of games is pretty good and is constantly rotating. They have an online inventory that lets you check what’s in store, book it and pick it up. They do not ship products to your house. They apparently tried this, but too many folks were returning items. They unfortunately also do not order games for you either for the same reason. I get why. We have bought from here a few times and have been very happy. We wanted to return a game that we bought that wasn’t what we thought; the staff explained that they don’t normally allow this but would make an exception which we appreciated. Make sure the games you get are what you want for this reason. They do except returns up to seven days if the games have a defect which is good. Will return again!

Buyer beware. Bought 2 items from this store last week. Both new condition. One was a dark souls board game that was sealed. Took the wrapper off and there was damage to the box. One of the game pieces was also busted. Wouldn’t have minded but it was overpriced by $50 (I purchased another new copy from eBay for that much less with shipping). Also bought a pop vinyl figure on the same day that was supposed to come with a stand, yet was somehow missing. So guess what, it doesn’t stand up and I can’t display it outside of the box. I don’t trust the legitimacy of their “new” products. I did buy a used ps3 a few months ago - which was totally fine - no complaints there. However, I don’t recommend buying any new products from this store because I feel like they’re reselling used items in their shrink wrap and charging a premium. That’s just shady business practices.

Wii Play Games West has an atmosphere and look that I love every single time I go in. Everyone is very friendly and helpful for any question you have, whether it be card games, video games, or board games. I have not had a single bad experience in the time I have gone there, from Magic the Gathering pre-releases to casual Yu-Gi-Oh play with friends. This is the place to go to trade in cards, the staff was happy to help and checked my cards one at a time to ensure they had the right pricing. After giving me in store credit for some cards I had, I bought the playmat and cards in the picture. The staff helped me find a card not on shelves if I just mentioned it and was very patient with me. Their customer service is fantastic. All in all I would recommend this store to new players and old players of any games, and those who are looking to learn a game!

They don’t seem to respond to reviews so I doubt they will see this but if you are disabled DO NOT visit this store.

Their aisles are not wheelchair accessible if you are an independent wheelchair user. Luckily I had my partner there to help push me and help with tight spots but we still got stuck or had to avoid entire parts of the store.

I’m incredibly disappointed and not just with the accessibility. I’d heard such good things about this store but inside it is dingy. The atmosphere is stagnant and terrible. None of the service workers show you kindness or greet you when you come in.

The products they display are overpriced or fakes. The vibe was very much fake designer at a swap meet. I mean they literally do admit to selling fake copies of Pokémon games as reproductions so that right there should tell you all you need to know about their business practices.

I bought what I had in my hands and left halfway through the trip because I was tired of trying to navigate the store and I’m not rude enough to make an employee put back every tiny thing since they were items I wanted. I do regret spending my money thought and they set off a fraud alert on my credit card which leads me to believe fraud is consistent at their store.

The icing on the cake was when we were trying to leave. The white female with black hair at the front who helped us check out watched, slack-jawed and drooling, as we struggled to exit their door that was almost too small for my wheelchair. She was standing and appears to have a working heart and working legs. It’s good customer service and common courtesy to open the door for a customer leaving your store if they are disabled.

I cannot stress enough how much you should not spend your money here. Support Retro City...

Pokémon cards are great! One of the only shops that carry singles for sale. It’s a good place to shop for a deck etc.

They also have an extensive And impressive board game and Funko pop selection and a massive selection of video games.

Cons :

No matter how much the purchase, it’s .50 charge for all credit card purchases and you must show ID. I am aware merchant processing gets higher transaction percentages with credit. But half a dollar is way too much. You may want to think about changing merchant processing services that can offer you lower rates. .50 cents seems like your paying for the charge, plus making money on the deal and it’s unfair to customers.

Pricing out mostly on point, other than certain Pokémon boxes And sets that are being sold double the retail price. Celebrations bought at game stop (45) at your shop (79). However, I think the cards are falling in price again so it’s leveling out.

Pros!

What I said above, but also my son, left his tiny book of Pokémon cards at the shop one day. The employees were nice enough to actually look up my account, find my phone number, call me, hold it behind the counter, and gave it back to us. It made his day and you guys are amazing for that. They even flipped through every page to ensure the cards were still in tact and accounted for . It was very sweet and I’ll never forget it.

Phone service could be a little more customer service oriented however, as I couldn’t get even a ballpark price on the phone for a game system . I understand you need to see it. You guys just didn’t have to contradict me and be smart about the process.

Have a fantastic day. I will for sure shop here again and I hope this helps people that are interested in...

Came to Las Vegas on vacation and was looking for a good collectible shop that carried old Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I found this place highly rated on google and their website had many cards I was interested in, when I went in I instantly picked out a handful of cards and asked the prices for each. Some were fair others were high considering their condition was listed as NM but clearly Werent. When I asked the employee helping me what condition he looked up he seemed insulted as if I had implied he didnt know what he was doing and I was implying he got it wrong. The cards in particular that he came back with had prices that were 2-3x what they should be valued at and when I told him I think that he got the wrong price he asked if I was calling him a liar (lol) he explained where he took the price from and proceeded to say he took the 3rd price from the top as if he was saving me some money. The card in question is $40-$50US on both T&T and TCG player and has been that price for some time, he came back with a $115US price and proceeded to find higher prices listed on ebay to justify his price. Would not recommend buying old cards here as they seem to not have a grasp of condition and where to find the correct price of a card. Was easily going to spend $300-$400US on the cards I wanted but instead bought only a few cheaper cards. I will not come back when I return to vegas. Would give 0 stars if I could absolutely abysmal experience and that particular employee should not be...
