Big Waste Of Time
If you're a hobby enthusiast, building, and making things on your own you won't get any help here. Staff could not tell me anything about their limited parts. Lady behind the counter has attitude problems because she couldn't answer the simplest questions. This is just a place to buy toys..
UPDATED : You're response is full of fluff to try and save face and I understand that. My review was right from start to finish. I merely asked about a motor, could have been ac or dc. It was going at the end of a handle you hold. Heat had nothing to do with it. It didn't matter what it was. I've been an electrical engineer and not a tinkerer since 1978 and have designed, constructed, and implemented a multitude of systems incorporated with plumbing, a/c, electro-pneumatic and electrical parts with voltages ranging from millivolts to 4160 volt frequency drives. This is why I was reluctant to explain the other two projects because I knew you would not understand them. A man leaving the store had mentioned using a gear box. I was told by the lady behind the counter you only had the motor in the bag on the wall. As I looked around the store by myself, I found a reduction motor. I even held it up and showed it to you. The attitude from behind the counter which you were probably oblivious to, by the way was not helpful, had already set in. I thought at that point, I would politely leave which I did. Can't be mad for not having a part. Disappointed when running...
Read morethey seem to know what there talking about however they kind of talk down to you and treat you like your stupid. They kept telling me and my friend that electric rc was they way of the future and that nitro was the way of the past. Even after we told them we are nitro fans for life. They told me that parts were impossible to find and when i went home and looked online i found the parts i needed on eBay and amazon. I had bought a 5th scale 2 stroke rampage xt online and asked them if i could break it in with 25/1 fuel and they told me yes and i bought the fuel. come to find out that truck required 20/1 fuel for the break in prosses. It seemed like every time i went in there i was given lies or told your taste in rc is wrong or that i should switch to electric. It was almost like if it wasn't electric rc they just didn't care to deal with you unless they had it on the shelf and if they didn't they tried to say the parts are impossible to find now days which was bs if your a nitro fan i wouldn't waste your time. What made it worse is this was my childhood hobby shop. That i had been coming to since i was around 5 or 6 years old. I'm 41 now and for that kind of treatment I'm more then disgusted with how the staff...
Read moreFantastic support experience!! Purchased a remote control Jeep for my 6yo as a Christmas gift; unfortunately, it didn't work for more than a few minutes. My kiddo was disappointed but I promised I'd call "Santa's tech support". Ben at the Laurel Hill store was super helpful, provided several tests I could run to isolate the issue then directed me to the online sales department. The guys at headquarters were very efficient, quick to process an RMA and cross-shipped a replacement unit at no cost (even though the updated, available model was more expensive). Unfortunately for the guys at Hobby Works, my 6yo will give Santa's elves in the warranty department all of the credit, but I'm happy to share this awesome support experience and encourage you to support a business that treats...
