I visited NJ Camera for some general information about cameras and to inquire about maintenance on a family "heirloom" film camera Canon AT1.
The service tech was not in store to answer specific questions but I had a wonderful conversation with Caitlin(sp). Caitlin suggested various models that would assist me with vlogging and image capturing.
A Canon authorized store offering new and used products. Trade ins welcomed. Some camera bodies in stock with in store access available in a few business days.
Various accessories available as well such as tripods, lens, bags etc. Film developing also available.
I was unable to get clarity on the pricing to clean my Canon AT1 and left confused about the pricing structure. The service tech offered pricing over the phone with...
Read moreDo not get any camera repaired here. I brought in my Canon F-1 35mm because of a sticky shutter at 1/30s and slower. I paid $200 for the repair and initially thought everything was fine until I finished a roll of film and discovered a slick of grease along the back plate and inside both spool areas.
When I returned to the shop, the owner said fixing that issue would cost another $150. I’ve owned this camera for over ten years and never once had grease leaking from the gears. Now, thanks to this “repair,” the camera contaminates film (something photo labs refuse to process because it can ruin their developing chemicals).
The experience felt dishonest and careless, more like dealing with a used car salesman than a professional camera technician.
The other man in the back who develops the film is not related to the owner. The film developer is very nice and gives good quality film development. I don’t want these two to...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed and surprised by the owner’s attempt to STEAL my camera! I was under the impression that they were a honest business in our community but was saddened when I was told that my Canon camera was not fixable and was then offered another used camera for $385 with a $25 exchange for my “unfixable” camera. I turned down their offer and went to another repair business that took only a few seconds to troubleshoot my camera. Turns out I had a bad battery to which they replaced for only $10!!! It’s sad to say but we have a dishonest company in our mist!!!
