Service is extremely slow, especially with food. They time everything you as the customer do but not their staff. Bowling is charged by the time you have the lane, arcade is timed play, but if you order anything, even on a slow day, expect to wait 30 minutes for even a microwavable appetizer. We could BARELY get in a drink and apps while bowling for an hour. And when I mean barely, I mean 15 minutes after our lane time ended (about 35 minutes after we ordered appetizers) I had to ask them to check and it may have just been sitting there in the kitchen for a bit. I'm looking around as I write this review and no one has food, that should tell you something. My advice, order ahead and then arrive so it's ready. Staff is likely not paid enough to care and food service is slower than the postal service but you're not allowed to have outside food or drink even if you can get that faster than their in-house food (which is really good actually). You're reminded several times on the way in that you're beholden to their "when we feel like it attitude." I wanted to love this place. It has so much potential. Hire people who care or pay them to care.

This experience was frankly awful. As the name suggests, this place was built during the colonial era, but of course it passed through the gilded age because the fancy exterior presents colonial bowling as a lovely modern venue. It is not! I would rather go to Delmor lanes (see previous review) than this jawn. If you want to have fun or bowl, or both, then do not come here. I don’t know what was drier, the unoiled lanes or my wallet after paying for an hour on the lane. Seriously, does no one care about bowling standards anymore. Just oil the lane. Fix the slow ball return that tore up my personal ball (apparently it was my fault that the return kept jamming because I brought my own ball). Replace the Vietnam-ravaged coconut balls that my guests had to use. Make the bathrooms first-world quality. FIX THE CARD SYSTEM. This honestly might be a Bowlero in disguise. I am so enraged by the lack of infrastructure upgrades which made my time miserable. They want to eat your money and give you poor service in return. Let the people bowl. Let freedom ring, and down with Colonial Bowling.

I want some kind of reimbursement because I just got a new ball the same day I came in. The lanes aren’t cleaned or even oiled. My ball hooked into left gutter because it’s supposed to curve. Upon speaking to the front desk they put me in the vip room to try the new ball. They had oiled the lanes last night so I was pleased with that. But upon inspection of the game that I threw in the main area my ball suffered battle scars as if I had had it for years. Thankfully the vip room is lit up and I could see what’s going on, because it near pitch black in the main area. Probably best as you can’t see all the filth that’s in the gutters. I’m very displeased with the upkeep of these lanes, as they are not kept at all. It’s time to clean the rails for the ball return and make sure the return system runs smoothly too because I am pissed. As someone who was looking forward to try their new ball 0/5 experience because the lanes are terrible. I had no issues with customer service there.

I had my daughter's 13th birthday party here and did the teen party. A week before the party I called to confirm guest count. I asked about having food at the lanes and was told that was ok but I should order now so food would be ready at party time (Saturday night being busy). No problem, I ordered 3 sampler platters at $16.99 each and was told they would feed between 8-12 people (looked more like 6-8 to me). A few days later I called back to increase my count as more kids had RSVP'd (total of 22 kids). I asked to add tortilla chips and salsa + cheese that I had seen on-line for $3.99 + $2 extra for cheese. She said all would be added. Day of event came and most went smoothly except after 15 minutes at lanes I asked about food and our party person said she was working on it. Another 15 minutes went by still no food I asked her again and she said they were still working on it. At this point I was frustrated as the point of the food at the lanes was to enjoy while bowling and now bowling was half over. I spoke to a person I think was an asst. manager and about 10 minutes later the food arrived. A manager came out and apologized, gave us a free pitcher of fruit punch and checked on us several more times to make sure we were ok. All went pretty smoothly from there until I received the bill. Unfortunately, being rushed to pay as the parents were arriving to pick-up kids I did not look at bill. The next day I noticed I had been charged $45 for EACH tortilla chip basket and salsa! I though for sure this was a clerical error. I called and I was told no indeed this was correct. That it was the banquet rate. Now I will take partial responsibility as I did not confirm that the online pricing I had seen matched when I spoke to the person on the phone but with sampler platters at $16.99 who would even begin to think a bag of tortilla chips and a jar of salsa would cost $45!!! Luckily when I arrived I reduced my original 3 to 2 but I was still charged for 3 so they did refund me for 1. So when booking a party with Colonial Lanes I would advise to be cautious on ordering extra food as it is slow...

I wanted to follow up on my previous post about this place. Had my daughter's 7th Laser Tag birthday party the weekend of the 11/18/17. This was the first for us at Colonial, but it was a hit! My daughter was happy (although she wished it was longer or that they incorporated bowling) and her friends had a great time too! Initially when we came in through the door they had us set up in a smaller room and not the room they had initially told me over the phone, so I was a bit nervous and panicked about that, but Jen accommodated us back quickly into the bigger room! They actually had us start the laser tag a little before 11:30 and not all the kids were there at the time. They told me over the phone that they would start 10 mins after the party start time (11:40), so wasn't too happy about that part, but I guess apparently they made up for the time and said that they gave us 5 mins extra. Our host Madison was great and accommodating to our needs! Appreciated that she really kept the kids entertained! It was a party that suited everyone's needs, kept the kids and parents both happy. Thank you for entertaining us! I do have a few suggestions though, but not sure how much they can change it since the place is already laid out. There really wasn't much room for parents to come in and out of the room. I think there should be more space or an area for parents and smaller kids who are just kind of hanging out in the background to do. Also I do wish the facility itself would taken pictures simultaneously of the kids, like at other party locations and post them on the TV they had in the room (which I thought was a nice touch, but we couldn't really hear the music videos playing, so might as well post pictures on them.) Definitely wish either there was longer laser tag time or a pkg with 20 kids that split laser tag...

Overview: Dirty/destroyed balls Oil is NON-EXISTING on the lanes. Worst condition Terrible crew with racism

—

First of all, I am not sure how this place gets 5 star reviews. This place ABSOLUTELY FAILS as a bowling alley. I-am not sure if the food is good or not. And I don’t care.

My girlfriend and I enjoy bowling a lot. But we moved down near princeton a few weeks ago, so we had to find a new bowling alley to go.

So we went there last Friday night for the first time. Outside, it looked perfectly fine. The problems happened right after we stepped into the place. I am not sure what is up with the security guards, but they STARED us up and down, head to toe, like we are some kind of different species. We said “okay, maybe something happened here... let’s not mind.” Then the crew were very disorganized and unprofessional.

They assigned us to a lane where someone was already bowling. So we went back to them and told them... at first they didn’t do ANYTHING. They just stared at us and said “they shouldn’t be”. After going back and forth for like 20 minutes, we were able to get a different lane.

The lanes were horrendous. It looked, and felt like it was not oiled for a year. We couldn’t possibly bowl in this condition. We asked them if theres any lane that is NORMAL. But they replied back with “we don’t oil lanes since the oiling guy doesn’t come in anymore.”

What kind of a “bowling alley” keep conditions like this? Its just like a joke. We paid for the unlimited bowling, but ended up playing just 4 frames(not 4 games, it’s less than half of a game) and left since it was a waste of time playing in that environment...
