Leawoof is by far our favorite space for taking our dog. There have always been at least 5 other dogs to play with and everyone has been above and beyond friendly here. The big dog area is massive and has some equipment for agility training. The small dog area has some equipment too and both sides are clean and well kept. The city park itself is part of the Indian Creek Trail system, and I used to come here a lot when training for a marathon because the trail is beautiful and feels really safe even for running alone. I haven't used the tennis courts or pool but they look really nice. It's a large enough park that even on busy days it feels open...
Read moreLeawood Park is an excellent go-to in the fall, winter, or spring when the playground equipment isn’t scorching hot. During the summer there is hardly any shade (except for under the play equipment, and the lunch/picnic pavilion located right outside the playground fence). The playground often seems crowded since the park’s footprint is quite small and there isn’t a lot of space for kids to run. It seems like a good park for 3-5 year-olds who are confident with high play equipment but don’t want to race and chase playing tag.
