This was my very first visit to Enjoy in Leawood, KS, with a friend from there. It was most definitely a great choice & made a significant first impression on me! The whole decor & atmosphere is probably the very first thing I noticed as it is an extremely pleasant, clean, attractive & bright place that says positively, "You're welcome here & we're glad you're joining us today!" The menu is a work of art & has many different & unique choices to consider in all different categories. It took me awhile to choose because it was my first time but also because everything looked so delicious! I finally decided on the Mexicali wrap which was a fabulous choice as it tasted divine! I was immensely impressed with good it really was! I was so excited about being there in this wonderful warm environment that I didn't want to leave! So, I wondered around to look at all the other features they had where else you could dine & was even more impressed with the layout & attractiveness of the entire restaurant! I knew I wanted to come back real soon but live in Topeka so I wasn't sure when that would be. I was so thrilled when my same Leawood friend picked me up from my medical appointment & suggested we go to Enjoy again!! This time I ordered an all in one bowl entree, that had something noodles in the title but I gave my paper copy of the menu to my daughter so she can go next, so forgive me for not remembering the name now. I can tell you it was absolutely delicious!! I want to call it very yummy & healthy,...
Read moreI have a tree nut allergy and for breakfast I ordered a Morning Wrap Up. The description for this plate is "Organic scrambled eggs, smoked turkey, broccoli, white cheddar, red pepper spread, whole-wheat tortilla, served with seasonal fruit".
There is nothing about this description that would make me worry about having an allergic reaction or feel like I would need to mention this when I ordered. I ended up having an allergic reaction at the restaurant and was told something along the lines of "If you would have let us know your food allergies, we would have been very cautious about making sure they were not in the dish and cross contamination".
The staff made me a new meal without the WALNUT "red pepper spread". I was very frustrated with my experience at this restaurant and did not appreciate that it seemed like they made it feel like it was was my fault for not informing of them of my allergy.
I am allergic to tree nuts and carry an EpiPen as a precaution. I luckily don't have a life threatening allergy and am typically very cautious about reading over the menu and ingredients before ordering or mentioning it if I have any doubt.
I am writing this in hopes that they will add the major food allergies to their menu to help people in the future and reduce the risk of this happening to anyone else. It feels that most restaurants do this and if they are going to try to keep up with the trends of letting everyone know it's gluten free or vegan, they can add...
Read moreI really liked the concept of this place, but was a bit disappointed with a few things.
Crispy brussel sprouts were warm, but definitely not crispy. There was a possibility that they prepared it when I placed an order, which was about an hour before I picked it up (it was a scheduled pickup). Next time I would wait until I am about 15 to 20 minutes away.
The salad came with dressing on the side, but the lid became open and spilled some of the dressing. The salad itself was quite good.
I was a bit skeptical about juices. While both tasted really good, I wasn't sure what was going on with the date of production. One of the juices was produced on March 5th, and I picked up the order today, March 7th. The other juice missed the date of production altogether. I've seen in specialty juice stores that they replace their juices on a daily basis. I'm not sure what the proper protocol is, but at least they should label things with the date of production correctly. To me, it seemed like they just removed the sticker that was previously applied to it, indicating that the juice was not freshly produced. All assumptions, but with some logic behind it.
The parking was easy on a Monday late afternoon, and the pickup process pretty simple as well. My order was ready by the time I got there.
I was very pleased with compostable packaging, something that some restaurants are...
