Thompson Barn — Attraction in Lenexa

My fiancé and I had a bad experience with this space. We scheduled a tour with them since we are looking for a venue for our wedding. We arrived 10-15 minutes late, apologizing a ton that the time got away from us and we hit traffic coming from downtown (it happens and I understand that can be frustrating). The lady on the phone had attitude with us and when we got there, everything was locked. That wasn't the issue since we were late and of course, it would be locked. Our issue was the way she talked to us on the phone. She seemed annoyed with us and it instantly made me feel uncomfortable. The concierge working there who gave us the actual tour was really nice! Had our wedding there, super functional venue. Was able to use the whole space very efficiently. Great discounts for Lenexa residents and for people. Reservations start a year to the month of your planned event. Be prepared and camp/wait at the door of the Lenexa Rec Center the night before the first of the month a year ahead to get the day you want (I got in line at 11pm the night before and was second in line, hour later the next person showed up wanting the same day as me). Inside on the lower level is a huge magnetic wall for easy decorations. Upstairs is a wide open space with elevator access to prep kitchen as well as lower floor. This was my first time being here as I attended for a work related Workshop and I must say the building was beautiful and peaceful, far enough from the street to not be distracted by the constantly passing cars and the nearby underpass. It has a huge hall upstairs that could be used for large Gatherings like weddings or 300 person all employee meetings. It also has a smaller conference room with what I assume to be Smart TVs downstairs.
