While the staff was very friendly which is appreciated but cleanliness is another. During my 14 day stay on the 1st night we found a roach. Contacted the front desk and was told they would call and have the room sprayed. Never happened. In total I found 5 roaches and reported it each time. During the 2nd week I was asked if moving rooms would be okay. Due to having my children there and worried the next room would have the same issue, was told they would have the room treated so I didn't have to move ALL my families things...... NEVER HAPPENED. I was in the hotel industry for over 20+ years and how this matter was handled was very disappointing. Hotel cleanliness is key no matter where you stay. Then to just ignore the issue after numerous reports is even worse. Then my dog was not going to stay for our last three days as it cost $10 a day, I was told I would still be charged the daily pet fee even if she wasn't there. That made zero sense to me so I kept her there since I would still be charged for her. I understand paying a non refundable deposit but on top of that $10 a day that they also add taxes to is a bit much. Either charge the deposit and not a daily fee or no deposit and a daily fee. As a previous general manager of an extended stay this place minus the staff was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I believe I should get some of my monies back due to my reported issue of roaches never being addressed. Please treat your entire property for bugs, clean the hallways, elevator and even the rooms better than they were. Especially for what's being charged..... Issues with room: Dirty microwave upon arrival In total 5 roaches found Dripping tub (they did fix) Floors dirty upon arrival Wifi connection was horrible Being charged for my pet if I chose to take her to family for the last 3 days of my stay to help me save money. OVERALL UNSATISFIED

First, the good: rooms are relatively affordable for the area. Beds are average quality; if you have back problems, you might have trouble, but, if not, you should be somewhat comfortable. There are plenty of power outlets. Plenty of closet space. A large bathroom with stool. Good lighting. Clean microwave, refrigerator, and electric stove. Now the bad: floors were filthy when we arrived (we used wipes to hand clean them and the wipes were black). Internet is almost unusably slow. They charge you for cleaning services, which is how they keep costs down. The beds are double sized beds. The table is very small, so there is not sufficient eating space for more than two people. There are no curtains on the window, so the room is bright at night. The phone doesn't work. And the TV only gets basic channels. EDIT: My original review stated that I disliked the hotel's non-refundable payment policy (which remains true), but I've since learned that as an extended-stay, room-rates go down for longer stays, so this policy is likely to prevent renting at a lower-rate and canceling prematurely. I would still prefer that the rate simply be adjusted at the end of the guest's stay to reflect updated rates if the guest leaves early. Overall, this extended-stay hotel is designed to be an affordable long-term option for the area. Guests should set their expectations appropriately, as this hotel is as basic as it gets.

I booked a room for a new employee relocating from St. Louis Missouri. The new hire stayed one night and sent me a text in the morning stating the following. "Good morning. When you all first sent over the info on this WoodSpring Suites I had second thoughts. However, because of the nature of the opportunity I was going to try to work through it but after getting here and spending the night, it is far worse than I could’ve imagined. The shower drain and head are rusted out. The beds are on dirty/rusted out metal frames the drawers were so dirty I wasn’t comfortable putting my clothes in there. I slept fully clothed. The accommodations do not come close to the impression of the first-class organization I thought I saw "BLANK" to be. There is no way my family would come and visit me here nor would I want them to. For these reasons I feel that it is best to part ways now before anymore time or money has been spent." Because of the accommodations at WoodSpring Suites we lost a new employee. Obviously this should not have affected us because we are different companies, but unfortunately it did.

I was told there was a military discount when I made the reservation, but when I checked in I was told they don't offer militray or senior discounts and was charged the normal weekend rate. On a Sunday night. I was lied to during the reservation. I was expecting a much nicer hotel with a nice room for the amount I paid. I would have been better off staying at Motel 6 for $40 less. The quality was the same. The room had broken blinds on the window so the room didn't get dark. The shower was horrible. There was no water pressure and the shower head didnt even reach my shoulders. I'm not tall, 5'9. I feel ripped off. I would epect this quality from a hotel that was $40-60 / night cheaper, but for what I paid, I would expect better conditions. I will never stay at a woodspring suites or Choice hotel again.

Added after response: I have already submitted a review and feedback through your website with the link that was emailed. Nobody has reached out to resolve any issues. It appears as though the response to all the negative reviews for this place is the same. It doesn't appear as if the company resolves anything. I guess this is my fault for not checking the reviews first. I was driving cross country, was tired, and needed to stop for the night. I made the mistake of solely going on the pictures provided by the company and not the reviews. Anyone reading this, do not stay at this hotel. The company lies, the customer service is some of the worse I have seen, and the rooms are dirty, falling apart, and overall horrible. Had my daughter been with me, I would not have allowed her to step foot in this place and I would have been out the cost because they specifically told me I could not get a refund if I canceled after I saw the place and didn't want to stay anymore. So I literally checked in after 7pm and was out the door before 7am in the morning in order to spend as little time as possible. Truly horrible experience and to date there has been no real attempt to reconcile the problems, even after I did as they requested and contacted...

If I could give 0 stars I would. Uneasy feelings right out the gate. No one was at the front desk. Had to use my personal cell phone to call the hotel to get the lady to come check me in. Go to our room. There is an inch of dust across all counters and cubbies. Room had an off smell, the hallways smelled of Marjuanna and other off smells. People hap hazardly hanging out in the hallways. When I booked my stay I was told there would be pots and pans and dishes to use for the kitchen. There were none. When I went back to the front desk to ask I had to again call to get the lady to come back to help us. She said that they dont have pots and pans and that it's $40.00 to rent dishes but it's not worth it. We went back to the room and my daughter laid sideways across the bed for what was maybe 5 minutes and when she got up her arms were broke out in a itchy rash. I looked at the beds, because the mattresses seemed very thin. The beds were like rollaway beds. We left to go to dinner and decided that there was no way we were staying there. Got back and let the lady at the front desk know that we were not going to stay and the reasoning and she acted as though she understood. Took notes on a mini post it note and said that she checked us out, but her manager would have to refund our money. Called and spoke with the manager this morning. They refunded all but one night, because she claimed we slept in there beds. I told her we hadn't and that we had left. She got real snotty and said then how did your daughter get the rash. I explained it was 5 minutes. We checked in at 6pm, went to dinner and checked out by 8:30pm. I will be disputing the one night with my credit card company, and making a formal complain to the Kansas City lodging inspectors. This establishment should be inspected and shut down. The people hanging out in the hallways and the double locks on the insides of the hotel room doors were also not comforting. Please don't stay at this establishment. It's really a...

We booked two rooms after looking the hotel up online (on their direct website) We booked the rooms a month in advance, when we arrived we had to call for someone to come to the front desk, there was a phone on the wall with directions, like a prison call. When the lady finally came and opened the door, she was very confused and admitted to not being properly trained. It took about 30 mins to complete the check in process even though we had confirmed reservations. I literally had to use my phone to calculate the nightly rate for her. After that long process, we finally got to the rooms. The photos are grossly misleading, when you walk into the room it looks like a dorm. There are dated pictures hanging above the beds, one of our rooms even had a dead bug smashed in the glass of the picture. In our other room, there was a stained pillow and it reeked of cigarette smoke. There are only three small overhead lights in each room. The one room's microwave and A/C unit worked only intermittently. We ended up purchasing our own cleaning supplies right away just to make the hotel rooms tolerable. You are only allotted 2 towels and 2 washcloths, no matter how many people are staying in the room. If you need clean towels, you have to wait until the front desk is open and take your dirty ones down to them and exchange them. The front desk is only open specific hours and if you need anything after hours, you are charged $10 for a service call... even for a roll of toilet paper. There is free WiFi, but you can only have three devices per room. There is no closets, only a wire rack to hang some stuff up on. You have to take your own trash out to the back of the parking lot. We have stayed at several extended stay places in the past, but never with these oddities. The only thing I can say was we got a good rate on the room, but you get what you pay for... even that being said, I'm still not sure it was...
