Poor manager: Ian Helling will not assist when there are people camped out on machines, texting or talking. He has asked me and other members to address with people ourselves. Unprofessional. During flu outbreak last year hand sanitizers were empty for months. There was one bottle in the building floating around the front desk and it was watered down according to staff who laughed about it. Reported to Helling and staff repeatedly, nothing was done. Staff is instructed to mislead ("we are working on it") about WiFi which has never worked, drops every view minutes. No one wipes down machines, few re-rack, lots of standing around bsing in front of equipment. Over time I've mentioned these issues and was told by Helling and new Asst. Molly "if you don't like it, leave" . Was put in contact with Billy Bridges who is up the chain of command and nothings been done. Have been kicked off a machine by the one of the trainers who was showing a new client around. Last week Molly walked up while I was using pec machine and said "you broke our machine, I want you to leave" then smiled at me. She's got some authority now! The top plastic cover had come off. I showed her the two mounting holes where there are supposed to be nuts/bolts to secure the cover and are missing. Manufacturer verified this. It's stressful to go there, feel like staff is waiting to jump me over something. Don't like being hassled and bullyed. Good staff members aren't there long, move on to better jobs. Helling has been there longer than any other Manager so what does that tell you. He's failed as an ops manager, but more than likely keeps his job by getting...
Read moreIf you are looking for a gym with ancient equipment in disrepair, a disgustingly unclean facility, and a penchant for ignoring customer feedback while making excuses that don’t make sense, then look no further! Gold’s Gym in Lenoir City, TN takes the cake in low standards, utter disregard for any measure of cleanliness, and they operate on a razor thin budget that doesn’t allow them to make even the most basic repairs. I’ve been a member of many gyms in the last 20 years, and Gold’s is by far the most disappointing. They clearly could care less about the satisfaction of their members. I’ve left feedback after feedback with their manager, and I know other members have as well, but nothing has changed in two years. The one redeeming thing they have going is the variety of equipment. If there are health codes for gyms, I don’t see how this place could possibly stay open. The shower drains back up, the sinks and walls are filthy, and the toilet stalls are reminiscent of a 1980’s decrepit truck stop. The pictures will show all you need to know. All they need to do is regular maintenance and have a cleaning service come in every week. Seems pretty standard…. And as if I needed to keep going, their child care is frequently closed and/or the worker is negligently late. There are lots of options for gyms in Lenoir City. I highly urge everyone to join one that cares more about...
Read moreShowed up for a spin class that was on their schedule. No instructor was there. Went to the front desk to ask if the class was cancelled. Person at the desk had no idea. I asked if the remaining class times for spin for the week were accurate he said I have no idea. I said do you have a phone number for the instructor so I can call her and find out? Again he said No. I said isn’t the instructor an employee here. No, he said they just show up. They aren’t employees. So, I said maybe I should cancel my membership because the classes are what I am paying for. Well you will have to call back and ask for a manager. And they don’t come in until 9;00 am. Very disrespectful employees. Poor representation of their gym. Only a member for one month and already having major issues. Finally we had our credit card compromised and had to get a new card issued. Instead of the gym reaching out to us for the new card number they waited until the end of the year and turned us into a collection agency. Not one phone call letting us know the card on file wasn’t working any longer. But promptly turned us in to a collection agency at the end of the year. I will never go to this gym again or recommend it to...
