Walker Stadium is an older field in the city limits of Lenoir, NC. Once you arrive, the stands provide unobstructed views. The problem is getting here.
The first time I went to the Stadium, I had a difficult time finding the field. This is the normal experience for first time visitors, so, I hope the following helps. The normal visual aide to locating a field us of no use. The lights. The field has lights, the lights can't be seen from the roads as you approach the field. Most fields are located at schools, or parks, so you navigate to the facility rather than the field. Add you approach toy see the lights, and there is the field. To further help you can open satellite view, and drop a pin in the field for more precise navigation.
For this stadium Google navigation will get you there, but it will not seem correct. There are signs to help, and this, I hope, will make it easier. There field is right beside Davenport Elementary School. You will park in the schools parking lot. The school, and the field are on a hill above the surrounding roads. The field sits in an lower area on the hilltop making the field lights low, which is why you can't see the lights from the roads. So, look for the Davenport Elementary School entrance marked by a low white, small-ish sign, maybe 8' x 5'. Turn in, go up the hill. Once parked, walk to the right corner of the school, behind a grafitti covered large rock is the field entrance.
Bring your folding chair or, a blanket as seating is the old style concrete large steps which are wide enough to set up your preference of chairs, or blankets.
The view of the field is very good, and the field lights are good making for a pleasant day at the ballfield, that is once...
