*Update to owner’s rambling: The “lady” that took my order was a dude. The 3 workers were 2 young guys and one girl. The girl never came to the register area. There was no microphone. The dude read back the order and included the relish, which was omitted. We did not sit in the back. Didn’t bother trying to get do-overs with the counter area crowded with people waiting to place orders but workers struggling to keep up the pace. Yes, I was aware of the variation in your ingredients as I previously mentioned and tried it anyway. Not sure why you’re bringing “Addie” into this. I never spoke with any female employee.
Maybe you have me confused with another dissatisfied customer. Wanted to try this place for quite some time. Should have waited quite longer. I’m not from Chicago (or any place north) but a Chicago dog is a specific set of toppings. I was willing to try their variation and was duly disappointed. Couldn’t even taste the dead pickle. Noticed in description it did not include relish so added that but it was omitted anyway. The bread was old … looked old, smelled old, tasted old. Sport pepper was subbed with chopped pepperoncino. If you can’t make a legit Chicago dog, why put it on the “specialty” menu? Also ordered a southern staple “all the way” as a backup. Didn’t think that could possibly be worse than the specialty but wrong again. Bread was worse and toppings tasteless. Fries were the highlight but that’s not saying much. At least they were hot but greasy and almost soggy. Catsup and salt rescued the whole meal. Hard to imagine Sonic could make a better hotdog than a...
Read moreNo problem, I will be happy to explain. My heart goes out to the kids who were behind the counter. They had no manager or adult to help them handle customer complaints or expedite service. They were accosted by a fellow diner who wanted to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager available. He ended up chewing out one of your staff which made it uncomfortable for myself and my child to watch and be a part of. The cashier, who was new and doing his best, apologized profusely for the customer's choices.
If a manager were available to help with the situation, it would have created a much more comfortable environment for the customers and for your employees.
On top of that, the hot dog I received was not cooked thoroughly and was cold in the center. After waiting over half an hour for my food, I do not expect it to be cold. I did eat the food directly after receiving it outside the restaurant since social distancing was not possible as tables were closer than 6 ft apart. The shakes were good, though!
Please allow me to be clear, it is not the fault of the kids who are behind the counter in my opinion. It was a less than ideal situation because there was no manager or adult available to help them keep up with the demand for the restaurant. I am sure all of these issues which I encountered would be easily solved by having a responsible manager on staff and assisting. I wish you the best in remedying this situation and I hope this review is helpful to...
Read moreWe thought we would stop in for the $1 Tuesdays.I had almost given up on looking for a non generic hotdog it seemed like everywhere I went it was the same plain all the way with tasteless slaw and bland chili. This place exceeded my expectations with every item we ordered! My wife and I both got a dollar all the way with chili, mustard, onion and slaw and they were fantastic! I had a Memphis with bacon, bbq sauce, and cheddar cheese and a Jamaican with mayo, jerk sauce, lettuce, mango, lettuce, and jalapenos (my outside the box order) they were both packed full of flavor but nothing was overpowering it was all fantastic. My wife had a hot hot hotdog with french onions, hot sauce and slaw and she loved it! We ended our tues-date with a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream, I'm not an ice cream guy but you gotta try it some of the best ice cream I've had in...
