Attending the Shakespeare Company's production of The Comedy of Errors was an experience that left me utterly blown away! The actors and actresses delivered performances that were nothing short of hilarious, capturing the essence of Shakespeare's wit with impeccable timing and infectious energy. Each character was brought to life with such charm and comedic flair that the entire theater was in stitches from start to finish.
The stage design, reimagined as a vibrant circus, was a stroke of creative genius. The colorful, whimsical sets and costumes perfectly complemented the chaotic and farcical nature of the play, adding an extra layer of visual delight to the performance. The circus theme was not just a backdrop—it was integral to the storytelling, creating a dynamic atmosphere that enhanced the humor and energy of the production.
As always, the Shakespeare Company delivered an unforgettable experience. This production of The Comedy of Errors was a masterclass in comedy, creativity, and pure theatrical joy. It’s the kind of performance that stays with you long after the curtain falls. Simply...
Read moreI love having this place in our area but when Tina Packard was directing the shows it wasn't really Shakespeare. She was all about butchering the script and just having everybody shout their lines. Well those days are gone by and it looks like the real Shakespeare is back. The performance of much Ado about nothing in July 2022 is first rate. I hope someday they can do a Henry the 4th part 1 and Henry the fourth part 2 as separate plays and not try to scissor them all together along with Henry V. That wasn't art that was an exercise in script butchery. Well I am glad to get that off my chest I'm looking forward to going back if they can maintain the quality of the more recent performance...
Read moreHave seen a number of performances here now and so enjoy the productions. I’ve been to Shakespeare fests across America and even worked at one for a time. Quality is great here and each playhouse works to work fresh magic into classic pieces. While this season’s take on Romeo and Juliet wasn’t a style I enjoyed, the acting was great and I always enjoy fresh air as they utilized an outdoor space. Twelfth Night was beyond superb and we came away with long talks about how well done it was overall. Just got tickets for another show there and we are excited to experience that. What a joy to have such a quality company in great...
