Paris Farmers Union (Lewiston) — Attraction in Lewiston

I have been using Back Yard basics, farm feed to feed deer. I was told by a P.F.U. employee that it was great for deer, because it had a little of everything in it and not just one thing. I have talked with 3-4 biologists here in Maine concerning feeding deer. Whole kernel corn is not good for deer---if you feed a lot at once it can kill a deer---crack corn is not as harmful, but if the diet is changed too quickly crack corn can be harmful. So I went to the Lewiston, Maine P.F.U. to purchase Backyard Basic farm feed, the girl says we are all out, but we have corn! I said thanks, but corn can kill a deer! She tells me it's not the corn, but the molasses kills the deer. I told her that I have talked to 3-4 biologists and read several articles about feeding deer and that I could send her articles about feeding deer. I left, and found what I wanted at the PFU in South Paris, Maine. The girl there knew all about the feed and named 3-4 feeds the same --Course 14, etc..
