Steiner Audio Video — Attraction in Lewiston

I decided to buy my new SONY TV from Steiner's rather than from Costco. Steiner's advertises on their storefront window that they price match Costco pricing, which is correct, they do. Aside from that, our local Costco did not stock the size we wanted. I also felt more confident with after sales support with Steiner’s rather than with Costco. Within 30-days of my purchase I noticed the national sales price drop by $100 dollars as was the case with Costco pricing. So, I messaged Steiner’s directly through their website contact form. I pointed out in my message that Costco has a 30-day Price Adjustment policy and that Steiner’s advertises they price match Costco pricing. I asked if Steiner’s would honor the same 30-Day Price Adjustment policy as Costco. Within about three hours, that same day, Steiner’s called me on the phone. They got my message and said they’d be happy to process that price adjustment for me. Within a couple days I had the one hundred dollars plus tax credited back to my debit card. I want to say first because I know most of us don't read past this line, I am smiling on my ride to work this morning because my new sound system is amazing. Marshall helped me out and was great at pointing me in a good direction for quality, however, the stereo he showed me didn't end up fitting in my Jeep. They didn't figure this out until halfway through the install. This cost me an extra $160 unanticipated and also took away wireless CarPlay which was part of the reason I was getting a new stereo in the first place. I will take partial responsibility on this as I looked up the stereo online and saw that it was not compatible with my Jeep. I was hoping they knew something the compatibility tool didn't or that I had typed in the wrong model. It might be wise for them in the future to use a compatibility tool before quoting. They took much longer to get the install done than anticipated, I assume partially because they were trying to figure this out, but they did stay late and they did get it done. I do not think their customer service is what I would call good. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in there. Among other things they really push you into buying the very best and most expensive stereo cables saying they make all the difference. Well I purchased them. Over $500 just in cables alone, not including speaker wire. They all had lifetime warranties which was huge purchasing factor. When the ends on my $150 hdmi cable went bad the first time they kind of fixed them saying they have been having this problem with these cables and their fix should take care of it. Then later when the cable no longer worked at all they said they don't carry that brand anymore and that I could try and get ahold of the company that was not located on this continent. But they personally could not help me. I have not shopped there in years. I would not recommend them either. Costco offers a lifetime Warranty on most everything. Not as long on electronics. So I shop there now, they are amazing...
