Soooo this was my first time here. My girlfriend and I ordered the Bacon Avocado Hamburger for us to share with onions on the side, curly fries, water no ice and a couple Adult drinks. I have heard about how big the Hamburgers are and they did not disappoint at all. I do have to admit that when we got our order it took a little time but thats ok because it was full of customers. Our waitress was cheerful and plesent and the experience was good. When we got the food there was just a couple mistakes but not to bad .... The water had ice. I just wanted to down a glass of water before my beer. But instead I just took my time and gave myself brain freezes. Like I said before it did take some time for the food to arrived so I had plenty of time to drink my water and almost all of my beer. When we got our food it looked amazing.... Super duper big and not a chance I was gonna be able to eat my half in one sitting. Like, this is what a food challenge should be. There is no way one person could eat it . The only unfortunate part was they forgot the side of onions and it was on the hamburger. But just like it was ment to be with some Peter pan magic I somehow managed to cut it and my half had no onions but my girlfriend's side did.... Amazingly great hamburger. I will...
Read moreWhen we got in one table was leaving so we didn't have to wait long... Maybe 10-15min That was encouraging since it looked fairly busy. We were there during phase 4 of covid-19 (open, no restrictions).
What was disappointing is that we had to wait 50 minutes at the table before the food arrived. No one came over to refill drinks or let us know what the status of our order was. It was one burger and one side of.
We watched so many orders go out to people in vehicles, while there were four tables inside still waiting for food. We also watch to other tables that came after us get food. Again ours was one burger and one fry. Either the orders in the back got mixed up, or the waitress was handing it to the closest booth to her.
The fries we're not cooked through. The burger was the typical Effie burger.
I sure hope that they either get a second grill and cook, or rethink how they're prioritizing orders.
We were inside the establishment 2 HOURS for one burger and one fry!!!! 10 minutes for a table, 5 minutes to get a greeting at the table with a menu, 10 minutes to get a drink and our order taken, 50 min to get the food, less than 25 to eat, another 15 minutes to get the...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this locally iconic burger spot. But definitely not our last. The ambiance was pure late 50s-early 60s diner, not in a fake "American Graffiti" or any other sort of ostentatious BS. Just a simple burger spot with a very simple menu. Sort of like In-N-Out or Five Guys. They do a few menu items, do them well, and that's the deal. ❤️
The service was terrific. Our waitress wasn't busy when we came in, but she was working alone, running the register, bussing tables, and seating new guests. Four groups came in behind us, and I saw no perceptible difference in the excellent level of service we had to start with.
Now, the food... 🤯
DO NOT order a whole burger for yourself, unless you're starving and have a HUGE appetite. I can eat a Double-Double and fries at In-N-Out no problem. Same at Five Guys. This place serves hand-patted burgers that probably weigh 3/4 of a pound, on a delicious, light fluffy bun that is 8" in diameter. Like I said, don't order the "whole", get the half.
There's a great family vibe, but there's also premium beer on tap and in the container for sale. The entire establishment was clean as a pin. I can give no...
