I wish they had more concerts there, however the building was built for hockey and hockey is what it does best. Between the current tenants L/A Fighting Spirit and the Lewiston High School Blue Devils (my alma mater) you can watch some of the best hockey the state has to offer. It also plays host every year for the hockey championships. It does have an old school feel that a lot of people may not like, but you're almost sitting in the action; every hit, every goal you feel like you're apart of the action. The recent update of the entrance area is wonderful and really makes the arena stand out. The few negatives I can say is that I wish there was more seating (could potentially bring in other acts) and the price to park. It appears that the lot is almost half empty or more even on game day! Why not lower the cost and have more people park, i.e. instead of charging 3 dollars per spot lower the cost maybe another dollar could/would entice more people to park; 1 orignial person parking + plus 1 new person = 4 dollars rather than the original 3 dollars. Not saying it'd necessarily work that way, but couldn't hurt.
Also, while there isn't a lot concerts there are also the MMA fights that occur at the Colisee almost monthly with the promotion group New England Fights putting them on. Action packed and always eventful with local amateurs from the New England area.
Overall, concerts when they have them are always fun as you have an intimate feel, hockey is always fun with that in your face action and lastly MMA there's truly not a bad seat in the house for...
Read moreThis building has been around for ages. I've heard the stories of the Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston fight from my father. I went to a Korn concert here when I was in high school. Now, I bring my kids to events here. Mostly Hockey, but they also have boxing, amateur mma fights and ice-skating. Activities for everyone. A concession stand that actually has good food. Plenty of bathrooms. Wheelchair accessibility and seating is mediocre at best. Honestly, I think it may be because of the age of the building, but a few mods and they could move right into the 2020's. Bring the family down for a great time. It's always fun at the Colisèe. And no, I do not work her. I am not being paid in any way to endorse them and I am not affiliated with them in any way. This is an honest to goodness review of a great place...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. Fans were allowed to stand up against the glass behind the opposing team for almost two full quarters swearing at the team and degrading them. Several fans of the Nordiques went and complained to the officers about our own fans that's how bad it was. We were all told there was nothing that could be done. There is. Make the fans go sit in seats and not be allowed to stand in the walkway behind the players. They purchased seats not...
