Kennedy Park — Attraction in Lewiston

Maybe it's a nice relaxing safe place to chill with family friends pets or kids.....maybe if there is an hour or two during the wee hours of the morning that I've never seen before.... It used to be this... Now it's very dangerous most times, especially at night! I've had more then a couple friends/ acquaintances get robbed, jumped, beat up, stabbed (yes, real stabbed, like hospital visit stabbed)and assaulted over the years. And I'm only counting the people that weren't asking for it by being there to deal drugs or pick fights or whatever.... Just because the police station is there does not mean you're safe.... no. I wish I could feel safe...

The facilities are very nice-pool & splash pad, a small playground and large grassy area. The clientele is the problem. Caretakers drop kids under 10 off and go into grass area leaving kids unattended and to be cared for by the attendees. Very disrespectful children. I witnessed kids of all ethnicities not sharing equipment and not following the attendees directions. And heard Very foul mouths. My kids are 7 & 4 I’d never leave them unattended. I was disappointed with this large grassy park. I was walking my dog here and hanging out for 30 minutes. I dropped a family member to an appointment. The amount of actual trash everywhere was unfortunate. It's like there was a rally there and no one cleaned up. The water fountain wasn't working and when I let my dog off the leash to get water the police came. Amazing that their entire drive through the park was for my benefit, so I could understand o could get a ticket and not to remove the panhandlers. Maybe I'll come back when all the...
