Mother India — Restaurant in Lewiston

Came into the town of Auburn with my boyfriend when he had Police training in the area. Wanted to find a place close to the hotel we were staying at while he was in classes. Found this India place. I had the lunch buffet 2 days in a row (Wednesday & Thursday). Very different experiences. Tuesday I had lunch buffet and mango lassi. Food was full/abundant at buffet station and service was professional. The bill came to 12.95. I left a $10 tip. Came the next day, Wednesday. Got the lunch buffet and mango lassi. One of the servers hesitated to have me sit and eat verses take out because they were so busy, but then told me where to sit. The food at buffet station was running very low and they were almost out of a few things. (The buffet is very small, so this is big deal when you’re hungry lol). My bill came to 18.95. What? For the same lunch buffet and mango lassi I had the day before. Still left a $5 tip but what a difference in experience from the day before. The server boy basically threw the calculator in my face when he told me the bill amount, so not the same professionalism I got the day before. Hi,

Today i was on a business trip to Lewiston, ME & the weather was very bad & too Cold. I ended up working until 8:30 PM & got hungry. I was looking for Indian Food & finally found Mother India. I went straight away to the restaurant & found its closed though they are open until 9 PM. I thought I'd give it a try by calling them as it was still 8:40 PM but it went to a voice mail stating that the restaurant is closed, but thank God the owner of the restaurant answered the call at the end of the Voice mail .

I thanked her for answering the call & asked if she could provide some food to pickup. to my surprise she welcomed me IN & got the food I ordered in 10 mins. During this 10 mins, I thanked her for the kindness & help though they are closing down for the day. She was very nice & such a sweet person, told me that she understood my situation in the bad weather & being a vegetarian its hard to get food outside.

She is truly a Mother India.

Customer service is 11 out of 10 Treated with Respect and Honor Very well orgonized clean rustic Humble Family owned restaurant truly speaks volumes to its Name Mother India the Authentic flavors are on point just thinking of some of the dishes I have tasted makes my mouth salivate this has set the bar for me in Lewiston for Authenticity original Indian cuisine bar non I have had none in comparison in a long time ONE side NOTE tho would love OPTIONS for fresh live vegetables as side order or incorporated in meal portions i added to dish for depth and nutritional values Also the portions sizes are enough ration out 3 days of meals for meal prepers the food is made with LOVE care conversation compassion and empathy it shows in the flavors presentation and taste there is a passion in the effort and work to produce these amazing flavors tirelessly together not for the love of $ but for the love of community one another simply to put a smile on your face from a meal...
