I don’t recommend going. I just wanna say first that what happened to me wasn’t my fault regardless if I was asked if I was okay which yes they did I was also there for a work event so I couldn’t just leave afterwards. And just as a disclaimer just because someone says they’re okay after a traumatic event doesn’t mean they actually were I am still having problems after this event happened my face has now broken out in a rash from the trauma I got injured riding the go karts which from the beginning I thought was sketchy because the barriers look dangerous Normally at any other go kart track they have tires or something that you could bounce of off to avoid injury now just because you sign a waiver doesn’t mean that it’s okay that they can just get away with hurting you it’s the establishment’s responsibility that they make sure their customers are safe those barriers were not safe at all and I have multiple witnesses that had said that their go karts were impossible to steer I have been to many other go kart tracks before and never had anything like this happen to me they turned up the speed on my go kart as I was turning the corner as I can recall you were supposed to take those corners slow which I was I had barely touched the gas pedal and I could barely turn the wheel so I went right through the barrier and afterwards they came to me and one of the people we came with had come to help remove the barrier that was pinned to my neck I couldn’t move I couldn’t even react right away I was so out of it I think I was in shock I couldn’t react normally so of course I said I was okay even though I clearly wasn’t they were just trying to cover their tracks. And after they got me off of the track I was charged 100 bucks for damaging the number plate which they have now said was the steering wheel which they failed to mention to me when I was there I have several witnesses that said the damage wasn’t that bad they could have easily screwed that back on and it would have been fine. And I also want to mention that I’m not the only one that has made a review similar to this one there was someone else who had went through the same thing and happen to be a disabled person this place makes money off of people getting injured. I may have continued on with the day and acted as if I was fine but again I was in shock and was afraid to make a big deal out of it until I realized the severity of my injuries nothing about this place looks safe i definitely wouldn’t recommend bringing your kids here either.
And I wanna add since I’m gonna be accused of starting a smear campaign I absolutely would have made a review regardless if I had to pay for the damages because I was injured on your property and I don’t think it helps your case to argue with the customer that was injured on your property i know how I was driving and my foot was barely on that gas the speed was turned up out of no where you all caused that accident and then wanna blame your customers for crashing crashes on a go kart track will happen but it’s yalls responsibility to make sure that it’s safe which clearly you have not. I suggest you all think about changing the way you do things in your establishment and maybe try to look like you care a little bit. Everyone else there said those brakes were absolute crap and you could not turn that steering wheel without putting every ounce of strength you have into it. You say you want everyone to leave feeling safe and happy with their experience but then go out of your way to cause them to have a bad one and then blame for it how...
Read morewent Saturday night with a group of 8 people. the axe throwing itself was fun. our pit boss was nice enough. however the safety here is a concern.
each pit is divided by a chain link fence. for some reason the venue was too cheap or just irresponsible enough to leave around a foot long gap at the top of the fence. apparently while i was throwing an axe, the people to the left of us threw a throwing star. i’m assuming they threw it very hard because it ricocheted off the wood target area and flew over that gap in the fence, right towards me. fortunately it did not hit me but it very well could have hit me or the people spectating directly behind me.
the pit boss picked it up real quick, probably in hopes of hiding it. she down played the situation and got annoyed when a friend got vocal with his concerns. i think the pit boss of the pit next to us was the real issue though. they were obviously allowing those people to throw axes and stars WAY too hard.
we kept going on but the incident was on my mind the rest of the night. another employee came up to me and said “i’m glad you’re alive” which i found rude coming from an employee. definitely not something you want to hear in that environment. i brought up my concerns w the throwing stars specifically and he said it could have been an axe that flew over just as easily. i highly doubt that. if this venue doesn’t take proper precautions (closing that gap in the fence / watching how hard people are throwing) then they should NOT allow throwing stars / cards which are much more liable to bounce and ricochet due to their design.
interestingly enough i have a video of the ninja star ricocheting and coming by me. it was the only video my boyfriend took and you can see it clearly fly up and over the fence. i wish i could post it here but i’ll take a screenshots and circle it. it’s blurry because that thing was moving FAST.
bonus mention: they didn’t card anyone in my group for alcohol and we’re all in our 20s (i’m 22 lmao). obviously they don’t follow regulations...
Read moreMy date and I were so excited to try this place but we're sorely disappointed and left without spending a penny. There were 4 staff at the main counter, absolutely no one up front. VERY dimly lit place too and only 50 people there for a Saturday night (5/13). Staff didn't seem interested in helping us and 3 ignored us completely while 1 person ran the register. We were told that walk-ins would be a 90 minute wait but there were about 5 empty axe throwing areas. We went to try bowling but there are only a few lanes and they were being used. Nobody was racing carts or seemed interested, nobody at games, pool, or really anything else. Dim, not really a fun energy, and a long wait while bays sat empty. We just left and went to a similar venue without axes. If you have a group of people this place might be fun, but as a walk-in couple it wasn't inviting at all. I only gave it 2 stars because we didn't try anything, we may come back just for axe throwing but not sure. MEH. I really question the business model, use the unreserved bays for walk-ins or explain why they are sitting there empty while customers want to throw money at you.. We weren't the only walk outs. And turn on more lights.
REPKY TO OWNER RESPONSE. I understand the insurance thing but, there were at least 3 employees just standing around chatting. And more lighting, not necessarily flashing, would be safer I would think. Also, if you require 48 hours reservation you should know when the reserved pits are not reserved well in advance and bring in an extra employee or retask a chatter to pit management and make some money on that pit. As far as I could tell none of the reserved puts were being used on a Saturday night at 8pm and if your company name is Battle Axes, make...
