Man at front counter is racist and aggressive. Was shopping there yesterday and overheard him telling a story about something being stolen. However, when describing the thief, he repeatedly only referred to her as “the black woman.” When he approached me, I tried to gently call him in and explain that using race as the only descriptor for a person (especially in a negative light) is harmful and perpetuates violence against minorities, and could reflect badly on their business. However, instead of considering his actions, he opted to instead double down and get directly in my face (a 100lb white woman) in an attempt to physically intimidate me, only moving away when another customer approached. I’m a young person who is interested in antiques, so I decided to stop by with a friend to check out what they had. As I was walking through the store, I had my hands resting in my jacket pockets because they were cold. I was doing nothing wrong, not doing anything. The owner then had the nerve to accuse us of shoplifting. Now keep in mind, we were young people just checking out the selection, not hurting anything, and the owner accused us of stealing.
