Apollo Pizza Meadowthorpe Taproom — Restaurant in Lexington

The inside of the restaurant is nice. Plenty of tv's for the space. Ate lunch for my first visit today. The pizza is good and a nice option for pizza in this area of town. Enjoyed a side of garlic butter breadsticks too. For the price I thought the food was good. I would have given 4 stars but the service on this visit wasn't the best. 10 minutes after placing our order, the server told us our food was almost ready. Almost 20 minutes later he brought it out. Once we were nearly finished our server asked if either of us wanted a to go box, which we indicated yes. After waiting another 15 minutes we asked whichever server we encountered first to bring us one. This lunch trip lasted close to an hour. Other tables came in after us left before us. I still tipped as if we had a good experience because the location is still hiring and getting their staff in order which I know is a process. I typically don't have the highest standards when new places/locations open because it can take time to build the right team when you are a local restaurant. The food definitely makes this place...

Today me and my best friend stoped at Apollo Pizza after a long morning in the emergency room. So I guess you can say we didn't have the most appealing look to be two African American people. We were hungry and decide why not try something new. We decided to dine at this pizza place. The sign said seat yourself which we did. When we did a young African American male looked at us and said someone will be with you in just a moment. To say the least he made us wait on another server just to give a drink order. When the young man came out he seemed a little overwhelmed and ask us what we wanted to drink. We told him and to make the this short we never received our drinks. We gave him our order and while we were waiting the young black man went to every person who came in and took their drink order. We're confused on why he did not do this for us. I guess our emergency room look was not good enough for him. Even though we were there to spend our money. I can't believe how people can hate themselves so much that they will treat people that way. I was expecting more from this place. As I had heard a lot of good things from word of mouth/ FB. Mushrooms looked canned. Pizza was almost burnt. Service was awful. She (who never said her name, but had greenish black hair & was short) was in sweatpants & looked miserable. She appeared to be the only server. So I understood being a former server myself. But when she brought the check she slammed it down and kept walking. I said thank you 4 times and finally got a “yep” back. Never a you’re welcome. Never thanked me for coming in. I’m all for tipping(even on someone’s bad day) but I didn’t this time because she couldn’t have been ruder. I also sat and watched a high top table be ignored for several minutes and it was obvious they were ready for a box & the check. I almost told her she should just quit if she was that miserable and my husband almost told the kitchen staff he saw in the dining room that she needed an...
