Seems like most of the negative reviews are about mobile phone service and repair. My review is about PC repair.
My PC crashed March of 2019 (Windows 10 issue). Signed up for GeekSquad Total Tech Support—they got it back up and running, and they were able to save my data AND back it up on my external hard drive. PC crashed again Nov/Dec of 2020 (Windows 10 again), took it back to GeekSquad, this time, my hard drive was no good. Paid for a new (better) hard drive—installation included w/ my TotalTech subscription, and paid $50 for the in-home service to help me w/ WiFi and extender issues. The in-store staff I dealt with: Shana (check-in) and Michael, were excellent. Michael fixed my PC and was very communicative about everything. Can’t remember the guy I checked out with when I got the PC back, but he was good too.
My in-home tech today was Andrew, and he gets 5 stars. He was very communicative—reached out to confirm the appointment the day prior and the morning of. He was patient (answered ALLLL of my questions, and some I didn’t even know I had). And he was very knowledgeable. Definitely not just some random dude who passed CGS1000. I took the time to write this long review because I’d seen before where they were getting a lot of bad reviews, and having used their services for 3+ years, I’ve had nothing but excellent service every single time.
My only gripe is the phone system. You CANNOT get through to a human. Apparently the calls are sent to a call center on another planet. Staff has complained to corporate and corporate isn’t doing...
Read moreI just left Geek Squad in Lexington sc. I am aware an appointment is strongly suggested, however due to health reason, I cannot always schedule an appointment. I have been in 3 times this month and had no problems being scheduled and seen. I received a call that my laptop is ready to be picked up. I stopped at Best Buy after a doctor appointment. There were 2 two people being waited on and no one waiting. I got in line and waited 45 min. I was told I would have to make appointment to come back. I have entered the world of the handicapped and it is difficult to get about . During my 45 min wait, no one recognized I needed to sit down....I was ignored by all the employees who came and went, and there were many of them. When I finally talked to someone, I told them I would call for an appointment.....And, customer service for the handicapped left a lot to be desired. This remark received no comment. Read moreBUYER BEWARE! We will never use these folks again. They installed a TV incorrectly. They screwed up our surround system. We just hired a professional to come out and fix this and he confirmed what I had suspected all along. They said our receiver was broken and it wasnt on them. Turns out they just installed everything incorrectly. Also, they got stuck in our yard(no clue why they would drive off the ample concrete parking pad into the yard). They refused to acknowledge or take the blame for any of these issues. I just got passed around from person to person with each call. I finally grew tired of wasting time asking for help with the problems they called. Its sad to see how incompetent this...
