Taking time, searching and exploring the options for cataract surgery, I scheduled two consultations at different practices in Lexington.
After the consults, I was still not feeling the good vibes for my eyes, so my regular OD’s, Lambirth and Courson (Central KY Eye Care) gave me some information on Precision Eyes.
I scheduled the consult; it was actually presented and explained by the surgeon, Dr. John Giltner, who would be performing the procedure. What a novel Idea!
Dr. Giltner took the time to answer all my questions, explained the different surgical options, downtime, financial considerations and more; I was finally ready.
A slight glitch occurred in the second surgery (not their fault) and was corrected. However, Dr. Giltner checked on me regularly, gave me his cell phone number to call after hours, and scheduled multiple follow-ups at the practice location to be assured that all was well.
I also need to give much praise to the staff at Precision Eyes. As a former owner/operator of twenty-two medically based clinics (still thriving) in Kentucky and the Southeast for thirty years, we aimed to be friendly, warm, knowledgeable and skilled in presenting our services and products to our patients.
Precision does the same. From the Front Desk, Optometric Assistant's, Dr. Pope and Dr. Tanner, the staff went above and beyond what you can expect as far as patient care.
I chose the Alcon Vivity lens option; my clarity is fabulous, and I couldn’t be happier thanks to...
Read moreI had a great experience having cataract surgery in December with Dr. Tanner with Precision Eyes. I previously had severe myopia and severe astigmatism. Both were corrected with my surgery and the upgraded toric lenses that were implanted. I am so thrilled that I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes for the first time in over 55 years. It is so amazing to wake up and see clearly. No more fumbling for my glasses. I only need over the counter reading glasses for small print. I won't miss rain drenched or foggy lenses and I'm having fun wearing regular sunglasses for the first time ever. Their office is lovely, clean and comfortable. All of their staff is so nice and the paperwork was quick and simple. The technical machines that they use to evaluate the eyes are awesome! Dr. Tanner is extremely kind, thorough, professional and highly skilled. I felt very prepared for my surgery. Dr. Tanner and all of the nurses were very reassuring both before, during, and after the very quick surgery. I was relieved when they told me that I didn't have to worry about blinking my eyes or falling asleep. They use a device to keep your eye open. I felt absolutely no pain during the procedure. Right after surgery we went to their office and Dr. Giltner evaluated my eyes and I was given eye drops and sunglasses. Dr. Giltner is terrific too. Two thumbs up for Precision Eyes and Dr. Tanner and Dr. Giltner. You could not make a better choice for your...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that is comfortable, convenient and professional, I’d highly recommend going to Precision Eyes, formerly Abel Eyes. I went to them back in March 2024 because I wanted to get an adjustment to my Lazik procedure. I had noticed my eyes were not as clear for my vision and was relying more and more on readers, which I wanted to get out of. I also was having sensitivity to light. After having my eyes screened, Dr. Giltner determined that I had cataracts. After the surgery to correct the issue, which included the placement of multi focal lens that I’d highly recommend, I was able to get rid of my readers and get my vision back. Dr. Giltner has also helped me with dry eye issues. He and the entire staff are very nice, helpful and informative. He explained everything that was going on with my eyes and how to treat my issues. I’d also like to add that the testing and surgeries...
