If you enjoy a rock hard bed, a freezing cold indoor pool, and snarky, incompetent, dishonest employees - this is the place to stay.
We were charged more for our stay than quoted. She tried to blame it on fees and taxes, but the quote we had from where we made our online reservation had fees and taxes added in already. When we checked out, we were told there might be additional fees added on later (and this is after she argued about printing out an actual receipt for us... Yeah, we know why you didn't want us to have an actual receipt. You just wanna add charges we shouldn't be paying!) Also, we were told we would be notified about said charges later in the day. That day has come and gone - and NOTHING!
The room was clean. I'll give it that, but that's all I'll give it. The beds were basically 2 big rocks covered in the thinnest sheets known to man. The shower pressure was the worst I've ever encountered in a hotel.
And the pool...
Oh my word! Why would you bother to have an indoor pool if it's going to be the same temperature it would be if you're swimming outside... in the middle of winter! There is absolutely no reason to bother with an indoor pool and keep it that cold. Also, if you have to use that much chemical (that the smell clings to you even after showering), I have to think there's a bigger issue than the temperature.
Also, just a side note: the website mentions breakfast as an amenity, and they put it out like it's complimentary, but we did not partake for fear that we would end up charged even more - and there's nothing anywhere that clears this up. Read moreThe rooms of this hotel were clean and the decor is updated, but the customer service here made a very bad impression. Upon checking in, the desk clerk gave me and my road-weary children our key, but didn't direct us toward the elevator nor give any of the need to know information you'd expect to get when you check in. In our room, my children wanted to get a movie on demand, which I agreed to, but it did not start after purchasing it. I called the front desk, explained my situation, and was condescendingly told to "not push any more buttons" and that she'd remove the charge. (After all, I look like a dullard who is incapable of figuring out technology that has existed since I was eight.) I calmly explained that I had promised my children for the last 500 miles that when we arrived to our hotel we could get this movie, so I would like to switch rooms if that what it would take, but was told that switching wasn't possible. The icing on the cake was when I was in the shower when our Domino's pizza arrived, so I asked that the front desk tell the delivery man I'd be downstairs in five minutes, but I got downstairs within about two minutes, ran out the doors to catch the delivery man who was leaving who told me that they had not given him my message. Read moreI would like to encourage you to come stay at this Hilton Property. First of all, the property is completely remodeled, and it looks great. Additionally, the staff couldn't be nicer! I had to stay there last night as because of a huge storm in the area, and we had no power on at our home. My party consisted of myself, my dog and my toddlers. Nobella brought us our takeout to the room, towels and a huge bowl for my dog to use for his water. She was so kind and went above and beyond my expectations for any front desk staff member. This morning, I was trying to get my kids breakfast, and with toddlers, I will tell you it's quite the ordeal. Our server (I didn't get her name, but she was so sweet) gave my boys coloring pages and even kept them busy while I got them some food. As I was trying to pay my son wiped out on the floor - not the hotels fault, his feet twisted up and fell. He was scared and hurt and crying and the manager and server told me not to worry about the bill and tend to my son. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels, across many brands, and have never been so impressed as I am with this staff.
