Had my Jeep Grand Cherokee towed here in late November 2023 due to a massive oil leak (5+quarts leaked out into driveway one cold night after having slow leak for 6+ months and wouldn’t start). It took over a week for a call back, which was fine at the time, as i wasn’t in a rush. I was told there was absolutely “not a drop of oil leak” and instead was diagnosed with a bad battery, need for radiator and thermostat replacement, and a trans pan leak. I probed so many times on the oil leak, and was told it wasn’t oil, it was transmission. CB said he and his mechanic drove it around. I was quoted over $2,700. I did not feel comfortable having the work done, as I was 100000% sure I had an oil leak. It wasn’t a question on my end - more of a statement. I said I’d just pay for the battery and pick it up. I was told the radiator was in such bad condition that I didn’t “need to even drive it to the store” or the engine would blow. This was odd, as my car has never even slightly run hot. Nonetheless, I paid $1,495.00 for a battery, radiator and thermostat as I didn’t want to lose my car. I finally got the call to pick it up over 3 weeks later, and didn’t even drive it to the red light on Lawrenceville Hwy/Beaver Ruin before I could smell the oil burning. After driving 30 minutes to my destination, I had no oil in my car. I put over 30 quarts of oil in my car (no exaggeration) within 2 weeks after picking my car up from Lilburn Auto. They couldn’t have even driven my car around the corner without not only smelling, but seeing a major oil leak.
Luckily, I employ a team of diesel mechanics who were able to diagnose the probable issue within 5 minutes. Oil filter housing was cracked. No transmission leak at all. I ended up taking it to the Jeep dealership after being burned by Lilburn Auto for $1,500. I had to pay another $1,491 to Jeep to fix the actual issue/oil leak. Jeep said there’s no way I should have needed a radiator or thermostat with the year and miles on my Jeep. I didn’t even ask for that information, but they told me I got ripped off by Lilburn Auto. I also feel like the inability to find or identify such a massive oil leak makes me wary of their expertise, or lack thereof.
With all that said, CB was a very nice person and seems to be a great salesman. Just be very cautious if you’re a single woman like myself - you may just get taken advantage of. This was a huge hit to take at Christmas time as...
Read moreI am not really satisfied. I had a roadside issue with my coolant upper hose leaking. I towed to this shop in urgency. They charged me 200 bucks to change this. The hose is 70 and labor is 130. I checked immediately in auto zone website and found that Dayco is only 35 bucks. I asked them why do you charge 70 for hose. They said me they do not have any idea, this is the price from NAPA because they are good. Anyhow I dint not have any other option and I started thinking like may be hose is a good quality and so they are charging double for that. Everything done. I was happy.
After 1 week, I found coolant level is decreasing, I went to a different shop to check it. They cooled the car keeping it open outside for 2 hrs on the day we had snow storms in Atlanta. After that they put the pressure and found that coolant is leaking from new hose joint. I was so upset and I asked him fix it. He opened the upper hose and I discovered that was DayCo upper hose costs only 35. I think this is not honesty, if you put a regular part then why do you charge double on that and you lied. You took labor charge of 130 bucks and did not do your job properly??? I buy another good quality hose in 40 and spent 90 bucks labor to fix that. They charged more on labor and parts and did not do their job properly. It was a bad experience with me when I was in emergency.
I am not going to do anything with these guys. I am happy to put this comment here and will never go to this shop again. I will edit this comment and put a pic of the hose...
Read moreHighly dissatisfied. Dennis was very unprofessional from the initial phone call. He was slightly condescending face to face, but I was able to dismiss it for the most part. We had an appointment for a Thursday afternoon. I got off of work early and made the necessary arrangements for a ride home. When I arrived, he said he overbooked himself and needed to reschedule. I rescheduled kindly, despite being inconvenienced, and came back the following Wednesday. He quoted me for $3000 worth of repairs. I only did the minimum until I could evaluate the quote better. After driving my car for a week, I started to smell a STRONG oil smell. It was giving me headaches, and causing my son discomfort. I couldn't tell where it was coming from as it was strongest when I stopped at lights. When my husband and I looked under the hood, we noticed that his team left the oil cap off. I had been spewing oil for over a week at that point. When I called to ask Dennis for a refund on the oil and discuss other options for refunds due to this mistake, he was highly defensive and mocked me for even asking. I kept my composure and told him that I would contact his corporate office. He laughed, said they’re not going to do anything for me, and hung up on me. I am reporting him to the BBB and will be contacting his corporate office. I was able to find someone highly recommended and quoted me half the price for the...
