Montclair State University — Attraction in Little Falls

I am an international student enrolled at montclair state university, and this school has never EVER helped me with anything that I needed. the website is confusing, the staff doesn’t know any answers to the questions that I’m asking, they say they will call you back but they never do so. I was on the phone today with international students department with a lady named lilliana and I asked her if I could file my taxes as an International student, after asking her supervisor she got back to me and said yes. I asked if I could put in my SSN now or if I had to wait until the end of the semester to do so. she said she doesn’t know. I asked to change my visa status and if I had to do it in person or online, she said she doesn’t know. I asked to speak to a supervisor that could possibly know the answers to my questions, she said no one is available and that it was only her at the front desk at the moment. only one person for 22k students? last question I asked her was— do you know the percentage of international students enrolled at montclair state? she obviously said no. montclair claims they are a great school, claim they have a great system and “care for their students” let me just tell you they dont. they only care about your money. I dont recommend montclair at all, save your money and go somewhere else. but if you do end up at MSU expect the worst and you won’t be disappointed. Bad food, bad parking, bad dorming services, old buildings that don’t have AC? with the amount of money they make from each student? But again, they don’t care about you they only care...

The campus itself is beautiful. Classes and professors are great with a wide selection to choose from and most are actually pretty helpful. The two stars are for the awful lack of parking plus the price you pay for parking, lack of shuttles, (you would think with the amount you pay in tuition there wouldn't be over 100 students waiting to crowd onto a shuttle bus in the cold). Also for the EVEN MORE TERRIBLE student accounts, registrar and down right garbage financial aid office. Not helpful WHATSOEVER. They never answer the phone, they're slow with email responses but interestingly enough you're quick to get an email when you owe money or a hold will be put on your account when you do. But they don't ever answer the phone for you to handle your account before deadlines. They also always seem to have an attitude when they do answer or if you go there like "why are you even here". Montclair charges ridiculous little fees on your bill so do yourself the favor and definitely don't dorm. Not a bad school but these offices that are paid to help you, are such a headache and will make your time here frustrating along with the crazy prices for parking and parking nazis that will ticket/boot your...

I attended Montclair State University for my bachelors degree and i had the best college experience ever. The campus is beautiful and they are always remodeling and investing in new buildings. All the buildings on campus are pretty much brand new and that was one of the things i liked the most about the campus; it’s facilities are state of the art.

Montclair State has so many clubs and organizations in which students can get involved. As an undergraduate student here i was always involved whether it was a job on campus or club.

My favorite memories of Montclair State definitely consist of hanging out in the student center quad during common hours with my friends.

The recreation center is amazing and should be taken full advantage of since entrance is free for students. It has a pool, indoor track, gym, cardio floor, weight room just to name a few.

This campus holds a special place in my heart and i will forever be grateful for the experience i had while being an undergrad.
