Jerry's Barber Shop — Attraction in Little Rock

I feel bad about posting this because Marie was very nice and even ended up giving me the haircut for free, but I can't let this go. This was the worst haircut I have ever received. Apologies in advance. This isn't personal.

I came in with a sizable beard assuming that a barbershop would be the place to go to clean it up a bit. I asked her to take the sides in a little and to trim off the loose ends. She ended up taking more than half of my beard off completely. She left one side thin and the other full. I had to point this out to her. She left a bunch of long hairs that she only noticed at the end, which she haphazardly cut off with scissors. I asked her to even up my mustache. Without checking for evenness, she just started trimming! She took off so much more than I had asked or wanted. (When I came home my beard was still uneven.)

She ultimately did an acceptable job on my hair. She cut the front too short and several times I had to ask her to even it up... which caused even more hair to come off. But it looks okay, I guess. She didn't cut the back at all until I asked her to. On three separate occasions she asked me which way I part my hair, and got it wrong every one of those times.

She snagged hair repeatedly. The neck trim was the worst. It was very painful. She said she should have cleaned the blades. (Why didn't she?) She ended up leaving my neck half untrimmed.

She was slow, but careless. She did not pay enough attention. She did not look at me straight ahead when cutting and trimming. Instead, she bounced everything off of the mirror. So of course everything ended up all lopsided and messed up.

This was by far the worst haircut experience I have ever had. Marie has no business trimming a beard, much less cutting hair. At the very end she told me that she rarely trims beards like mine. I wish she had told me sooner! Then she had the nerve to tell me that it looks better than it did when I came in. By the time I realized she didn't know what she was doing, it was too late. I was afraid to ask her to correct anything because she would end up taking off far too much and making it worse! My wife ended up having to finish the job, trimming my neck and evening up my beard.

Again, I am sorry this is so harsh. But people need to be aware of what they are getting themselves into. This is the only experience I have had at this barbershop. The other barber(s) might be great. I do not know and will not have the opportunity to find out. I am never stepping foot...

Quite possibly the most atrocious bunch of amateurs I've ever had the misfortune to have a haircut from. Marie done my hair and let me put this straight out i honestly think Stevie Wonder could have done a better job. she has no business cutting hair at all because she is as much a barber as i am an astronaut. a simple short back and sides turned into me being scalped all over so it looked only about an inch longer than kodak. She used the clippers all over when i only said take a short amount of the top and shave the back and sides with a blade 1. She obviously doesn't understand English me being English but straight away she got the clippers out and shave a chunk out of the top of my head, obviously by this time it had gone too far so i told her to just take it all off as it cannot be corrected much to my absolute annoyance and some expletives. i give this place 1 star as it is impossible to give it 0

I’ve been going here for two years and this place is the definition of customer service. They make a relationship with each customer and always remember your name. Recently they have updated their entire shop and opened up the space a little more for more seating. Mr. Jerry doesn’t work as much anymore however, whenever he is their he makes it a point to meet everybody who comes in. Mike is extremely thorough with his haircuts. All the barbers are very friendly and will not let go until you are 100% satisfied with your haircut. Then Friday before my wedding, I went in to get a trim and Mike told me it was “on the house.” This is a great place to get a haircut. If I could change one thing, it would be for them to accept...
