Boulevard Bread Co. is a fixture of the Pulaski Heights neighborhood of Little Rock — deservedly popular for its excellent sandwiches, bread, soups, salads, not to mention its bakery with outstanding bread and a deli counter with an array of good cheeses, olives, cakes, cookies, brownies, and so on. For lunch, you order at a counter when you walk in and staff bring your food to your table. Evening meals have wait staff coming to the table and taking your order, with daily specials that are usually scrumptious. The atmosphere is pleasant, though the cavernous dining area and the loud conversations at many tables can make the place raucous and impede conversation. There's a small parking lot, but spaces can be at a premium at lunch time. There is, however, ample parking on nearby side streets and at two other parking lots only half a block away. I highly recommend the tuna paninis (pictured in one of my photos below), smoked turkey sandwiches, and the vegan hummus sandwich. Friends dote on the pastrami sandwiches. A few years ago, I took visitors from Los Angeles to lunch at Boulevard, and they offered high praise, indeed, coming as it did from sophisticated LA to little Little Rock: they said that they'd eat there every day if they lived in Little Rock. A bonus in summertime is a table in the deli-bakery section of Boulevard offering locally grown ripe tomatoes during the tomato season.

This was my first visit. Allof the baked goods looked really good, it was hard to choose what I wanted because they all looked great. I had a slice of pineapple coconut loaf cake and an iced chai and I enjoyed both of those. This place is really cute and the cashier who helped me was very friendly and helpful. That's where the praises end for me. If I ever came back it would just be for a coffee or a small baked good. I was VERY unimpressed by the lunch items we had. I had a turkey sandwich and while I liked the turkey, I hated the baguette. I think my teeth are just too sensitive for it and I think it was a little too toasted because it was very hard to bite into. I ended up eating around it. My daughter didn't care for her salad at all and she usually loves salad. Altogether my sandwich, her salad, an iced Chai, fountain drink, and loaf slice cost $40. For what I paid for thr sandwich and salad, I'll just go somewhere else when I want lunch. The cake and iced Chai were good. The food, not so much.

I was in the area for lunch and I got on Google maps and found this place. I looked at their menu and saw they had a Reuben sandwich and so I had to try it. I walked in and it is very modern and welcoming. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I believe the manager or the owner was in there and she was nice as well. I tried to order the Reuben sandwich but I found out it was a dinner item but she referred me to the traditional pastrami sandwich that was a lot like the Ruben and I could add sauerkraut to it but I decided not to add sauerkraut but to keep it the way it's intended to be made. It was a very delicious sandwich I was almost done with the second half when I snapped this picture. And this was a half-size sandwich so I would say it's a pretty good portion and it came with a bag of kettle cooked chips I chose the jalapeño flavor and I already had a drink in my truck because I am out working. I would definitely recommend this place and I cannot wait to come back for the Reuben sandwich.

I was treated so rudely by staff, Manager Will at that due to this first visit experience to this establishment I doubt I will return. My daughter who brought me here wanted me to try the restaurant. Upon ordering and paying over $64 for items I went to sit down. There was a rope hanging from 2 silver poles in front of the side dining area. The only table in front of these ropes had a man sitting at the table. So I went around the rope and sat at at table. About that time a man came with our soups and said, " You went around the rope, you need to sit here" and slammed the soups down on the table the unknown gentleman was sitting at.I said there is someone sitting here, the man(Will) says and they need to be leaving . That side is closed we don't have servers. And Will walked off. The longer I sat there the madder I got. So l asked for the manager when I left and the cashier told me that there was 2 a man and a woman. I chose to speak to the man, unfortunately it was the waiter/server that slammed my food down at an occupied table and told those people it was time for them to leave and me where to sit with people I didn't know. I began by telling him he was very rude, made no eye contact, and very angrily said we always close that side at 3:30 because there is nobody to serve. I explained this was my first visit to this establishment how would I know this and nobody served me or waited on me besides you slamming my food down at another occupied table. I fixed my own drink and served myself and disposed of my trash. He then told me if I wanted to talk to the other manager (woman) that was on the phone help myself! Now I don't know about others but no matter how good the food is with service and inhospitable as this business was they don't have to worry about me returning again. I will be more than happy to share my experience with this business...

I went there today for Lunch as I was in the area and wanted to try something new. I ordered the Rustico Panini and it was god awful. For starters, it took over 20 minutes for them to get my panini to me, it was a half panini, not even a full one. The cost of the half panini set me back $9, which is honestly astounding that y'all charge that much. As for the sandwich itself, the bread was great, thats why theres two stars instead of one, but the chicken salad tasted disgusting. It really just tasted like they scooped sauerkraut onto the bread and that was it. It was extremely acidic and tasted almost rancid, plus there was a lot of liquid within the "Chicken salad". So much liquid that I had to put a napkin underneath me because the two bites I tried to take squeezed some of the liquid out and onto my pants. I really wanted to have a good experience here because I love supporting small businesses, but the price of the food for the service and the quality of the food I received is highway robbery. I will not be...
