Started off good and took and cliff dive on 3rd visit. Order Sushi a few weeks ago. It was great spent about $16. Yesterday, ordered 2 starters and 2 entrees $49. But food was really Good. Today ordered the Salt and Pepper Prawns $16. The Description was as follows: Breaded Jumbo Shrimp, onions, red peppers, spiced black peppers & fresh vegetables. I also ordered food for my Fiancé. Fiancé picked it up. I open up the container to find 9 small shrimp over cooked, chewy and hard. A hand full of spinach along with a pound of onions and red peppers. I immediately called and spoke to the manager. Explained to him what I had ordered and what I received. The shrimp were not edible and a handful of Spinach does not classify as Fresh Vegetables. He took my number and told me he would call back. He called back about 2 minutes later. He explained he spoke to the chef and the chef told him he did nothing wrong. I got into my car and return the food. I explained to the manager I would like a refund. I also informed him he had lost a customer. Instead of telling me what your chef said. It would be in his better interest to oblige his customers. Especially, a customer who spent $100.00 in your restaurant within a month. He returned my money. I will not return....
Read moreIn town just for a bit and decided to stop here for dinner and am very happy I did!
I've eaten my share of sushi/shashimi, from West coast to East and some how this place in Little Rock had the freshest sashimi I've ever had. All the cuts smelled in my mouth and were delicious!
I ordered the shashimi deluxe (menu says 20 pieces, but it had many more) and the spicy boy role. If I knew the prom size I would of not ordered the baby octopus (as tasty as that was) for an appetizer! I also did not realize the spicy boy role was a double decker! I understand and appreciate the price of it now! Each peice of the double decker role had to be eaten in two bites. The chili sauce (more of a paste) had great flavor and spice. The roll itself was a decent spicy tuna. I would of just ordered the top half on their own is it were an option.
But the Shashimi deluxe die the show! What they seemed me is really enough for two (if not three) people and I'm 6'2" 230lb guy that likes to eat!
I have not been to any other sushi restaurants in the area, but as good as this place was I doing I ever will. My next time back in town will include a trip back...
Read moreLocated in The Heights, a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas, Sushi Cafe is a local favorite. It is on the corner of Kavanaugh and N. Grant, making it high on the walk score from shops, easy parking and other amenities.
They have a small outdoor patio and the interior boasts a calm environment with soft music playing. Perhaps, they are under staffed since we did have to wait an unusually long time for drinks and appetizers, however, the food is quite good and worth it.
I recommend starting with the Work Fired Spicy Edamame. The images below feature the 'fire and ice' roll which is set on fire, Rainbow roll, Geisha Roll, and the Rock-n-Roll. They have a really robust selection of sushi to choose from.
They have particular hours and are not open for lunch on the weekends so call ahead of time if you are unsure. The vibe caters to singles, those on dates, and is kid friendly. Their bar has tv for those looking for a sporting event. Overall, this restaurant located in the historic Heights district is the perfect spot for those craving...
