Burger Bar Cafe — Restaurant in Llano

I have been here and enjoyed the food in the past but today was a gigantic disappointment. I ordered the blt which consisted of a thick chunk of iceberg lettuce, two slices of tomato and bacon crumbles peppered across mayonnaise ..about one slice worth of bacon on the entire sandwich.

UPDATE: playing devils advocate I returned to burger bar today hoping last visit was just a fluke bad experience. Well, it wasn't and today was abysmal. We arrived a group of 4. Three of us ordered salad and one ordered a burger and onion rings. After ordering a good 15 minutes passed and the waitress came and apologized our meal had not come yet and that it would be out shortly. She returns a few minutes later to offer refills on our drinks.In walks another group of four. She takes their drink order and returns to the kitchen. After bringing out the drinks she moves on to take orders from another table. A few minutes pass and she takes food orders from the group of four. Another 15 to 20 minutes pass and she tells us our order is on its way. Then returns to the kitchen and comes out carrying 4 plates with burgers and onion rings and fries and serves them to that party of four. Mind you, this party didn't even place an order until more than30 minutes after we had...and we ordered SALAD. Finally another10 minutes or so later we received our salads...which were missing ingredients. I did not complain because by that point i was just ready to getout of there! But that is the last time i will visit...

We haven’t been here since the early 2000s. Looks like they did a great job with the renovation. The building looks new but the food is still pretty darn good. The service on the other hand was EXCELLENT!

My son said his burger could have used a little seasoning but he said the tater tots were great. I ordered the 2 piece “strips”. My oh my! I cannot even fathom how much chicken you get with the 4 piece… you prob would need two plates. They were huge! Definitely got my money’s worth there. They were spiced perfectly and were juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I ordered a side salad and some fries. I didn’t eat the fries for personal reasons but they looked perfect. The salad was average for a side it worked fine.

I do suggest trying the gooey dip. Great idea that I am going to try and duplicate at home. The chips that you dip into the gooey dip are thick and crunch! I mixed everything together before I took the pic (beans, sour cream, and cheese) as they were all in one bowl and and then I would dip the chip into the salsa. Deeeeeeeelish!

If you are passing through Llano, give this place a whirl. You won’t be disappointed. They definitely take...
