We've been going to Bedford for many, many years. Steven Bedford is the owner and he's also there to pour and tell you all about the wines. We're also members of their club - we enjoy it that much.
We were driving back from Bend, OR, where we picked up a car. We stopped by Bedford to see what new wines he had. We were greeted by Steven and his super friendly demeanor - what a great guy! He asked us if we wanted indoor or outdoor - we decided outdoor. It was a gorgeous day and we felt blessed to be in such a beautiful place. He had some grapes for his guests to try - we tried them all - Chardonnay, Grenache and Pinot Noir. He told us about the grapes, where they were grown - personally, I thought the Pinot Noir grapes had a very unique flavor that I really liked. She liked the Grenache, because they were a bit riper and of course sweeter!
Steven, poured us a 2017 Chardonnay, which was very well made. Not the over oaked, buttery chard, but a nice crisp chard with some fine nuances.
Next was the 2012 Pinot Noir. This was my favorite - well made, great aroma (smells like Pinot from the area), delicious with a lot of complexity, but it's also a little softer, due to the age! Fantastic Pinot!
Next was the 2012 Merlot. Another excellent wine, aged well and nice complexity. Also has the aroma of the area. Nothing like the grocery store merlot we've come to expect.
He poured us a blend that he made for his dad. A very nice blend, well balanced and some nice complexity. Another stellar wine.
We enjoyed all four and we're looking forward to another trip to Bedford.
We highly recommend going to Los Alamos and seeing Steven Bedford. Enjoy his delicious wines and...

I've been researching wine clubs in California to join. Before committing to any, I typically order one or two bottles to assess the quality. Here’s my experience with one particular club. Their website states that ground shipping to my state should take 1-2 days from the order date. I opted for expedited shipping, so my order, placed on a Monday, should have arrived by Friday of that week. By the end of the second week, I still hadn’t received any updates, though I decided to wait until the end of the day. By Monday evening, there was still nothing. On Tuesday, I emailed and called the company. I spoke with someone named Stephan, who claimed he hadn’t realized the shipment was expedited. He assured me it would ship that day. Shortly after our call, he replied to my email, confirming it had shipped on Tuesday. I asked for a tracking number, and he promised to provide it but never did. Several days later, I still have no update, no tracking information, and no package—and my emails has gone unanswered. It seems he never shipped the order at all. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is a pattern: he tells customers their wine has shipped, but it never arrives. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend joining...
Read moreI haven’t had the chance to try the wines just yet, but Bedford is already one of my favorite places in town. The moment you step into the garden, you feel it — welcoming, funky, relaxed. There’s something about the space that instantly puts you at ease.
I love stopping by on Fridays when the locals gather to play music under the trees. Everyone shares snacks, stories, and laughter — it feels like you’ve stumbled into the heart of Los Alamos.
Stephan, the owner, is absolutely lovely. He has such a gracious presence and clearly cares deeply about creating a warm, inviting space. Today, he surprised everyone with a batch of homemade strawberry coconut ice cream — rich, refreshing, and made with love. It was just what I needed.
If you’re looking for a place with heart, charm, and soul,...
