serving full barbecue only on Saturdays, priedite barbecue is definitely spot worth going to. Diving through the rolling hills along the coast to get here is beautiful. As I got my food, the sun came out from behind the clouds and making the meat glisten. Folding the brisket between the beef tallow tortilla (that I forgot to snap a picture of) was the perfect bite basically making my own brisket taco. Which they do serve and I was tempted to get after (but I have wedding I have to head to after this). The ribs was subtlety sweet just the way I like it. The pulled pork shoulder has a pretty nice smokey taste and was nice and moist without having any added sauces. Between each meat, taking a bite of the charred peppers was addicting, adding the right about of heat to transition to the next bite. I want to say they had one of my favorite slaws. Pretty heavy in the cilantro, fennel and having pieces of jalapeño gave it this refreshing, herby, but spicy bite. Instead of a creamy slaw, this used a lemon vinaigrette. As for the desert, you have to get that buttermilk pudding. Based on the menu, they place a seasonal preservative on top and today was strawberry. (this is my strawberry week it seems) The pudding was not too sweet. Almost as if the natural sugars in the buttermilk was the main source of sugar. With the strawberry preservative on top adding pockets of sugar between the custardy bites. As a coffee addict as well, the cold brew here was better than a lot of cold brew I've gotten at fancy cafes. A great bitter and chocolate aftertaste that was a nice way to finish my meal.

Coming from Austin, TX, we have been searching high and low forever for another BBQ spot, just because Austin has some of the best BBQ places in the country. Finally, move over Franklin, say hello to the newest and best BBQ, Priedite, a pop-up located at Bodega in the beautiful little town of Alamos, CA. There was a little wait but under the shaded umbrellas, so it wasn't bad. We ordered the Stagecoach Special, which came with 1 lb each of brisket, pork, ribs, and one sausage link. It also came with warm 6 tallow tortillas (better than the white bread) and choices of 2 huge sides. Everything was so juicy, tender, perfectly smoked, and as delicious as you could ever hope for in a large tray of BBQ. The service is fast, with several places to get drinks. The setting is beautiful under huge trees with plenty of large and small tables for big and small groups. We had 4 in our group and took home 1/2 of the meal for the next day. Would we drive 40 miles to come back here for BBQ? ...........YES..... VERY SOON..... ps. Order the picante pickles & fennel jalapeno (spicy) slaw are the best for crunch, scallion potato salad is creamy and is a must! Come early because they do sell out.

Ok This place is so unique and I highly recommend it. It’s hard to describe but there’s basically an excellent low key barbecue place that I believe does bbq tacos / burgers some of the time and full BBQ other times… I had the beef tallow tortillas with the brisket and pork and it was fantastic. I also had the buttermilk peach pudding which was excellent as well. I would gladly return to try everything else but let me tell you they do not skimp on portion sizes ! It’s really neat that in the same area there’s a full wine bar with very friendly, knowledgeable staff to help you make the hard decision of choosing your wine, I believe there’s also beer and there’s even different areas to sit Depending on the ambience you’re looking for. My friend and I sat at a cute little table in the garden next to a greenhouse and it was just so magical. We had local rosé and barbecue tacos- I mean I’ve never had such a combo it was really neat. I also highly recommend you check out the bodega shop on your way out. There’s great local wines as well as extremely beautiful ceramics and other handmade goods. I will definitely go back.

I’ve heard the best things about Priedite “smash burgers” but it wasn’t to be amazing for me. 🥲 Having driven from SLO to Los Alamos the previous Sunday (New Year’s Eve) and they were sold-out at 11:35 (opening hours 10:30-2:00) I was disappointed but persevered to return the following Sunday at 10:30 for a short (10-15 minute) wait in line. Ordered a burger and a cookie and was offered a beer or coffee gratis. However, I don’t drink beer or coffee. While waiting a guy marched up to the counter to receive a large order in a brown paper grocery bag. I asked if there was a method to pre-order and was told that was only for friends. I waited about 10-15 minutes for my burger to be ready. It wasn’t particularly hot by the time it was handed to me. I didn’t know you had to get your own napkins etc. at the wine barrel tables in another area. So waited in line again while my hamburger got colder yet. Although I understood smash burgers should be thin and have crispy edges, mine did not and in fact was pink inside (like med-rare). Wholly disappointed. Not yummy. I won’t be back. However, the cookie was good. In addition, although beer and coffee are free, water is not. Even though the cups for the coffee are right there, nope, you can’t have water in that cup. In France if someone asks for a drink of water you must oblige them. One would think that goes without saying especially if they just bought a meal from your...
