Gentle Care Pet Clinic — Attraction in Long Beach

I have been taking my dogs to see Dr . Bang for a lot of years . 3 dogs over 3 decades . Dr.. Bang no longer owns or works the clinic . I brought my Dog in for vaccinations and an yearly examination . Doctor Bang was a caring doctor and very fair on the fees . My dog a 93 pound german shepherd saw who seemed in my opinion a Dr. who was afraid of my dog . Did nothing but feel where I indicated on his fur were rough patches, did not look at his belly legs listen to his chest teeth, ears eyes nothing else. The nurses said doctor would take his temperature that didn’t happen. Doctor said that he needed prescriptions might have infection, (probably should have taken temperature to see if elevated) I asked for flea medicine and Shampoo recommendation . The nurses came back gave 2 vaccines didn't take his temperature. I was presented a bill the vaccines and exam which was not a exam at all 155 dollars for 2 vaccinations clinic advertises low cost vaccines . $60 per vaccine . Double what most were from Dr Bang The worst part was for the quote for flea medication 2 prescriptions and 8 oz of shampoo the office wanted to charge 550 dollars ! I declined the medication and wanted prescriptions. They provided the names on a letterhead paper . They would not provide prescriptions signed by the doctor. I went home and did my research without signed prescriptions to send to smaller pharmacies i was limited but Chewy said they would call the clinic and expedite the medication so I ended purchasing from them . I actually got 16 ozs of shampoo and 9 more antibiotic pills for 288 with taxes and delivery . At least half the price. I understand a profit but Dr. Bang didn’t seem to be hurting all those years and certainly didn’t take advantage of his customers . Sorry for all the details .Very disappointed. Probably should be 1 star but they did administer the vaccines and cooperation with Chewy. Does Chewy gives kickbacks to the clinic? Makes...

Dr. Bang (pronounced “bong”) is fantastic, an excellent vet. He’s honest & gentle. His level of expertise is tops. He does reek of cigarettes. My issue is with the second vet there & a rude vet tech. The second vet was unnecessarily harsh with my sweet, elderly cat. Grabbed my cat hard by the neck & handled him like my cat was a wild bobcat. When I protested, the vet tech told me to back off & let the doctor do his job. I said “isn’t the name of this clinic Gentle Pet?” & the vet told me he didn’t know my cat & he will be calmer the next visit. The second vet indicated it was possible my cat had cancer; he couldn’t be sure but it was certainly a possibility. The snarky vet tech agreed. I’m so upset. Dr. Bang intervened. As I am leaving the office, the second vet & the vet tech are talking about me as if I was off the rails, in their break room. The break room door is open & I’m being mocked. I admit I was in tears but I never yelled, swore or was offensive. I will never return to this clinic because of these two. I ended up going to another vet with better treatment. My cat didn’t...
